Strange Brigade

A dynamic shooter, the plot of which tells about the awakening of the ancient Egyptian witch-queen Seteki. Only the “Strange Brigade” - four brave adventurers who are ready to fight any danger for the sake of hard cash - can stop the ominous ruler and her minions.

Playing Strange Brigade alone is too boring, but in co-op the project reveals itself to its full potential. At various levels, bloodthirsty monsters, deadly traps and, of course, cunningly hidden treasures will await you, and an extensive arsenal of weapons and devastating spells, unique to each character, will help you deal with the creatures of evil.

A Way Out

A game completely aimed at playing cooperatively with a friend: you can’t go through it alone, you can’t go through it with a random player (not from the list of friends in Origin), and there’s no reason to - this project gives the most vivid emotions only when you play with someone you know well person, and preferably at one computer, in splitscreen. We won’t spend a long time describing the merits of A Way Out - we’ve already said everything in our review. If you have someone to play with, be sure to pay attention to this wonderful game.

Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide

The game in the Warhammer fantasy universe (which is not 40,000) invites players to team up and recapture the city of Ubersreik from the ratmen - mainly in close combat. Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide (as well as its sequel) captivates with dynamic and intense gameplay, impresses with the beauty of its locations and delights with its high complexity. In general, an excellent option for evening team fights.

Portal 2

Without exaggeration, the ingenious puzzle game from Valve could have been placed higher on our list, but due to its age it has given way to newcomers. The main feature of the Portal 2 cooperative is a very convenient, intuitive gesture system, thanks to which communication in the game does not require voice communication, and even residents of different countries can find a common language with each other. Interesting puzzles and signature humor remain in place, so the project will help you relieve boredom and have fun.

Gears of War

Only two games from the Gears of War series are presented on the PC - the first and fourth parts (the rest were released on consoles of the Xbox family), but they are enough for vivid emotions. Gears of War has a gloomy atmosphere, charisma of the main characters and fierce battles with undisguised, even ostentatious, cruelty.

Broforce

Killing Floor

Ghost Recon Wildlands

A shooter from Ubisoft, specially designed for cooperative play. Of course, you can play Ghost Recon Wildlands alone, but then you won't get even a fraction of the experience that this project provides when completing tasks together. It's all about the gameplay: the game belongs to the genre of tactical shooters and, obviously, AI-controlled characters cannot compare with real people who, with proper coordination of actions, will turn the passage of missions into a beautifully choreographed Hollywood action movie.

Dying Light

HELLDIVERS

Civilization

The sixth part of the strategic Civilization series is the newest at the moment, but co-op is also present in previous editions. Here, co-play is implemented within the framework of diplomacy: players can declare friendship, form an alliance and develop their civilizations together. Civilization VI is perfect for playing both over the Internet and on one computer - for the second case, there is a hot-sit mode in which participants take turns making their moves.

Cuphead

A long-term platformer released in 2017, with a stunningly beautiful visual style that references the cartoons of the 30s and 40s. Players will take control of funny characters and fight two dozen bosses. Cuphead has incredibly complex gameplay, so some friendly support comes in handy.

Path of Exile

Call of Duty

Starting with World at War, each part of the Call of Duty series contains, in addition to a single player campaign and competitive multiplayer, a co-op mode. In some editions of the franchise, players will have to fight zombies, in others - with aliens, but each time these missions delight with excellent presentation and exciting gameplay.

Destiny 2

Both parts of Destiny are designed for co-op play, but only the second part is available on PC. Destiny 2 is about cooperative battles against alien invaders, accompanied by a mystery-filled plot and a carefully crafted futuristic setting. The game boasts not only exciting gameplay, but also beautiful graphics that demonstrate stunning landscapes.

Diablo

The second and third parts of Diablo, after all these years, still occupy places in all the top cooperative games. The reasons for its success are high replayability, well-balanced gameplay, and exciting gameplay. Any fan of good action-RPGs periodically feels the urge to download one of the games in the Diablo series, call your friends and go to Sanctuary to deal with the presumptuous demons.

Divinity: Original Sin

Risk of Rain 2

World War Z

The ideological successor to the Left 4 Dead series, based on the film of the same name starring Brad Pitt. True, only the setting and set of locations differ from the blockbuster movie (which, by the way, is based on the book of the same name), but otherwise World War Z is a typical cooperative shooter, slightly less interesting and unpredictable than L4D.

However, it has something to interest you: hordes (no, HORDES) of zombies, a choice between character classes, snowy Moscow as one of several active locations, as well as an interesting PvPvZ mode in which teams of players fight each other, fighting off crowds along the way the advancing dead.

Don't Starve Together

In this standalone expansion to the survival simulator Don't Starve, you'll have to survive, as the game's name suggests, with a friend. At your disposal is a large selection of characters, many resources and items created from them. Against you is a world full of secrets and dangers, ready to tear apart and swallow uninvited guests. Want to see who is stronger?

Borderlands series

Fortnite

The Division 2

The story of a successful attack by bioterrorists was continued in The Division 2. The action moved to Washington, winter gave way to summer, but the gameplay remained the same - it was still the same exploration of locations and battles with marauders and enemy mercenaries.

Warframe

A very unusual and very popular game will take you on a journey to different planets of the solar system, where you will fight with enemies who have decided to take over the inhabited worlds. Warframe is a game about farming and grinding: you'll complete missions and participate in raids, hacking, shooting and blowing up your opponents in ongoing battles - all to create cool battle suits and powerful weapons. The game is available for free, so you won't have to pay a penny to take part in this grind fest.

Overcooked

A line-up of cooking arcade games that are a must-try if you're looking to challenge your friends. Why? Yes, because the soup is boiling, the onions haven’t been chopped, the dishes haven’t been washed, the customers are unhappy, and not only is your partner not getting anything done, but he’s also getting in the way.

Overcooked will offer you to cook dishes in the most incredible conditions - for example, in the crater of a volcano or on board a pirate ship, and even with a time limit and a crazy number of actions. An excellent test of your planning skills, reaction speed and nerve strength.

Portal Knights

The developers of Portal Knights mixed the mechanics of world exploration with construction and crafting - the result was not Minecraft at all, but an original cooperative project with travel across different islands and battles with bosses. In between battles, you can start building your own house, and if the gameplay seems too easy, you can always try your hand at fighting particularly strong enemies. However, it is worth noting that you will probably get bored in a solo game, so it is better to go on an adventure with friends.

State of Decay 2

Players were expecting co-op in the State of Decay sequel, and Undead Labs did not disappoint their expectations. In this open-world zombie shooter, you explore a land filled with the walking dead, find survivors and gather them into your community, which you can develop and strengthen with the help of resources obtained from your travels. Playing together will make survival more effective, allowing you to successfully defend against enemies and find more materials.

Deep Rock Galactic

A procedurally generated co-op shooter about space gnomes who battle alien monsters in caves full of treasure... wait, what? Yes, behind such an unusual description lies a good game that will give you an unforgettable experience with its setting and gameplay.

Four classes of characters, a large selection of weapons, a completely destructible environment, hordes of monsters attacking from all sides - after just a few matches you will no longer care about the strangeness of what is happening, but the crazy pace of the battles will captivate you.

Sea of Thieves

Co-op games for weak PCs

Almost all of the above games require fairly powerful video cards and processors. But what to do if your computer’s configuration can’t handle modern projects, but you still want to play co-op? Don't rush to break your piggy bank for an upgrade - we have a selection of co-op games for weaker PCs.

Good day, dear readers!
Now the time has come to draw a line under the next material from the “TOP 10: Your Choice” series, the topic of which was games with the best cooperative. If anyone missed the beginning, let us remind you that the selection of the dozen was done exclusively by our users, who first proposed their options on the forum and then voted on the best one. Our task now is to talk about the results in this material and, in fact, show them in the video attached to the article. That's what we'll do.
So, let’s meet ten games with the best co-op according to our users!

Cheerful slogan "play, create, share"(play, create, share) originated in the minds of the founding fathers Media Molecule more than five years ago and did not change until the launch of the pioneer of the design genre - LittleBigPlanet. People from Lionhead Studios from the very beginning they wanted to create a large playground for people of all ages and views, where they could create their own “small” worlds, open to all adventurers. Worlds that bring the gaming community together and encourage people to create truly monumental things.

First LittleBigPlanet made a real splash in the industry. Who would have thought that such an unusual project could not only crush the press, which squealed with joy and gave a stable 10/10 points, but also become a great commercial success. So much so that the number of levels created by ordinary people will very quickly exceed the one million mark. This is something on the verge of fantasy, no less.

An important element of this success and breakthrough in stereotypical thinking is the opportunity not only to share maps carved with love, but also to go through them with friends. Both offline and online. Jumping on platforms, using a grappling hook and helping each other crack puzzles, enjoying walking together through cardboard worlds in the guise of little plush dolls...

What can you add here? LittleBigPlanet 2 didn’t lose face and only increased the degree of pleasure from joint trips through the levels created by ordinary people. Media Molecule deserves applause and a mandatory mention in the top.

Croteam began its long and thorny path to fame as a tiny “garage” development team consisting of only six people and a dog. The Croats did not have any luxury cars or forks on the islands. There was only enthusiasm and a desire to make an old-school shooter, without false gloss and dust flying towards the eyes, but with an insane number of enemies on the screen and giant guns that turn monsters into pieces of meat flying into pieces.

The public's sudden love for Serious Sam and sprinkled on the heads of the modest Croteam The awards turned out to be unexpected, to put it mildly. And after all Serious Sam touched the soul not only with adrenaline battles “one against fifty” in spacious Egyptian halls. The game also stood out due to its “cooperative” mode, which was rare for those times.

Nowadays, the chance to run through a single player campaign with a couple of friends is seen as something for granted, but ten years ago Serious Sam was a representative of a very rare gaming tribe that allowed several players to jointly wipe out tens of thousands of subordinates from the face of the Earth Mentala. It should be noted that this largely determined the bright future of the game - to this day there are people who are not averse to picking up a shotgun, inviting a friend to an online feast, and going to shoot headless kamikazes.

Therefore, it is not surprising that Serious Sam has survived many franchises and this year will again occupy the minds of true fans of the “old school”. Get ready, feast of the name Serious Sam 3: BFE starts this summer!

"Rainbow" guys in special forces costumes from couturier Tom Clancy From infancy we are accustomed to working in a team. In the Universe Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six there is no such physical unit as “I” - there is only a native detachment, coherently carrying out the task of the staff generals and systematically clearing room by room, freeing hostages and eliminating the damned terrorists.

With each new part Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six went deep and immersed in details, trying to perfect the cooperative cleansing of the world from radical citizens. Each fighter could always rely on friends during very difficult operations and trust them with his back.

Vegas 2 thoroughly shook up all the ideas of the early games in the series Rainbow Six and decided to focus on the combat adventures of just two players, thereby trying to achieve cinematic heights and tighter team play. To be honest, it didn’t turn out that bad - even if it’s not a race with eight warriors in a squad, it still has charm and charm Vegas 2 still outweighed the sour expression on the faces of the devoted fan club.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow: Six Vegas 2- one of the best tactical shooters, what can I say. It will be interesting to see what Ubisoft will do with the series Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six in future.

Epic Games aimed at a tit, but hit a crane. Gears of War in the blink of an eye, it practically became the personification of the Xbox 360 brand, on a par with titanium like Halo. People applauded as they saw Locust carcasses being cut in half on the screen and using sophisticated game mechanics with cover for tactical shooting of aliens. gloomy universe Gears of War subjugated millions of players, and Cliff Bleszinski scored another hit on an intergalactic scale.

Break it down into its component parts Gears of War 2 it won't work - a game is only great when it is a single whole. With an explosive story campaign, sophisticated multiplayer and, of course, co-op for two brothers in arms - Marcus And Dominica. Not to say that Gears of War 2 loved largely for the regime of joint destruction of locusts, but still there is a certain amount of truth in this statement. Going through the game’s campaign together with a friend is much more fun, interesting and sometimes more difficult due to the artificial intelligence that adapts to the two fighters. Words cannot express the pleasure you get from running around the Nexus.

Gears of War 3, in turn, will continue to expand the cooperative boundaries - in the final part of the trilogy, people will finally be able to complete the game from beginning to end in the company of three friends. Now there is no doubt that the third part will put an epic end to the long history of the Delta squad and Marcus Phoenix.

Analysts predicted Borderlands quick death. Like, just another game Gearbox Software will turn out to be such a commercial failure that mom don't worry. About three months after release Borderlands wise analysts had to take back their words.

Borderlands turned out to be a large-caliber game, which not only did not save against venerable competitors, but even took away part of their potential revenue. The desert planet Pandora quickly became home to two million bounty hunters. Let's check the formula for success - obligatory loot, gazillions of weapons with different performance characteristics and range of application, a large open world and side quests. That's right, all the elements of success are in place. But there is one more, more important detail.

Cooperative. Nobody argues - you can enjoy a walk through the wasteland, filled with gangs, animals and treasures for connoisseurs, alone, slowly making circles around the rare islands of civilization. Yes, only real potential Borderlands opens only in co-op - when four warriors sit down in a battered buggy and set off to travel around the surrounding area, jointly completing tasks, collecting goods that have fallen from the pockets of defeated enemies and... If a dispute arises over who owns the loot - sorting things out with the help of guns and unique skills specific to each of the four classes.

To the cooperative needle Borderlands a lot of people got hooked. Even now, after a year and a half, it won’t be too difficult to find three partners and hit the road rally on the off-road roads of Pandora. And then maybe a sequel will appear to pamper tired travelers...

Fourth part RE deservedly considered one of the best games of the decade - Shinji Mikami created a game that influenced the further development of the third-person shooter genre, and at the same time survival horror. An unexpected mixture of different ideas stolen from adventure games and TPS, a camera suspended over the hero’s shoulder, leisurely shooting of zombies and a rather interesting use of QTE mechanics - all this instantly elevated Resident Evil 4 to the rank of an undeniable classic.

Resident Evil 5 Even with all the fans’ desire, it will not be able to reach such heights. Sunny Africa, a change from a gloomy European village to bright and not at all scary shacks and a slight shift in priorities towards a system of shelters, which are neither a village nor a city... Controversial decisions by employees Capcom many were accepted, it’s impossible to list them all. And today there are people who are ready to talk about how the Japanese miscalculated RE5.

Perhaps only one element of the game brightened up the overall disappointment. Against the backdrop of fat minuses, the cooperative at least looked like a small and stunted plus. Complete the story campaign RE5 together or playing in the “Mercenaries” mode with the support of a friend turned out to be quite fun. Yes, the light genre feel of survival horror in the co-op completely disappeared, but, in the end, it was completely uncritical. Everyone has long since stopped being afraid of creeping creatures with tentacles during daylight hours.

Bottom line - Resident Evil 5 turned into a more lightweight shooter. There is no trace left of the atmospheric, slow and drawn-out “horror” film. Is this bad? Someone will nod affirmatively. And someone will go through the game in co-op, not really caring what three and a half veterans of the squad think STARS. Everyone wins.

You won't envy fate Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction. The game was announced in 2007, underwent a mountain of plastic surgery, a complete change in gender concepts and, ultimately, appeared before the public in a completely different guise, noticeably different from what Ubisoft showed four years ago. Shaved Sam Fisher, no “social” stealth and a black and white palette of “invisibility” with brutal interrogations, knocked out teeth and shooting in the head – the surgeons did their best.

Of course, you can always look for flaws and find them anywhere and everywhere. Splinter Cell: Conviction In terms of mechanics, it has moved very far away from the first games about the secret agent of the Third Echelon. Can't argue with that. Some people liked the changes, while others defiantly spat at their feet and said meaningfully: "This is no longer Splinter Cell. Opinions are divided, but supporters of the two camps still agree on one thing - the multiplayer part Splinter Cell: Conviction was a success. And it’s not just about the cooperative, for which Ubisoft I concocted a separate storyline to make playing the game with a friend more interesting. The game also deserves good words for its diversity in multiplayer modes, where several special agents need to sneak behind enemies, monitor patrols wandering through the halls, work together in the shadows and in no case expose their partner to attack. The perfect combination for those who understand.

Uncle Tom Clancy enjoys clear authority among fans of cooperative fun - two games in this top with his holy prefix. Ubisoft She can be proud of herself - she came very close to the top three.

Seeing a child in a prize place Blizzard Entertainment– this is already a tradition of our tops. And who is to blame? "Blizzard"- one of the few studios whose games feel great and do not complain about the lack of attention from fans even after eleven years.

Diablo 2- a clear example of this. Despite the passing of a decade, she still has many fans around the world. Tens of thousands of people devote at least a couple of hours a week to the old woman, wandering through dungeons and killing mystical living creatures. Ask the inhabitants of our servers - they won’t let you lie! U Blizzard Entertainment it was possible not only to create a luxurious fantasy universe, equipped with a practical role-playing system and an indispensable hunt for loot, but also to rally the gaming community around Diablo 2, which with its enthusiasm keeps such an “ancient” game afloat.

However, a change is already on the way! Soon the second part will be able to finally retire, and a new star will sparkle in the sky under the name Diablo 3. Maybe Blizzard Entertainment and it takes a long time to harness, but it definitely goes very fast - the wait is always worth it. With the exit Diablo 3 this postulate is unlikely to change.

Who, who, huh Left 4 Dead 2 receives his silver deservedly and without any questions. In fact, this is the only game in the top that, from the very first days of its life, was created around a cooperative mode and the ability to shoot zombies as part of a squad of four survivors. And if in other games co-op is a big and pleasant addition that allows you to brighten up your evenings while playing with friends, then in Left 4 Dead this is an unbreakable foundation.

To the success of the first part Left 4 Dead few believed. On paper the game looked great, but there was still a shadow of doubt cast over a significant part of it. Co-op, artificial intelligence taking the place of the “director” and managing a crowd of zombies, unique “infected”... All this sounded very sweet, and therefore Valve Software I couldn’t resist and was the first to pounce on this cake. The seers bought it wholeheartedly Turtle Rock Studios, gave her money, provided the game with great marketing support and began to watch how, before their eyes, the first shoots of a future hit emerged from the fertile soil.

Left 4 Dead did not disappoint and became the favorite of millions of players who spend their time every day shooting the dead and paving the way to the saving evacuation point. Just like any Hollywood zombie movie!

Left 4 Dead 2 many at first received hostility, exposing Valve Software in deception. After all, the company promised to supply L4D new content, and here it is! True, over time, the resentment gave way to sincere love - the “crane operators” delivered all the promised content and are now actively supporting the life of the community Left 4 Dead 2. There is not a single cloud on the horizon, only mountains of new campaigns for the four survivors, ready to slay a hundred or two zombies.

About the same situation has developed as with the creations Blizzard Entertainment. A game Infinity Ward regularly visits the top's bedchamber. And it’s hard to argue with the fact that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a high-flying bird that deserves special attention.

Frankly speaking, only she managed to perfectly combine Hollywood action films with a hail of special effects from Michael Bay and standard game mechanics, which made it possible to bring games as part of the media space to a completely new level. Launch Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was in no way inferior in scale to the premiere in cinemas of some November blockbuster. And all thanks to magic Infinity Ward, who knows how to create excellent and very cinematic projects.

Against the general background and under the main musical theme from Hans Zimmer cooperative missions in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Not that they stand out much. They only complement the already epic canvas. Teaming up with a friend to complete tasks stolen from the single-player campaign may not sound interesting, but snowmobile chases and the opportunity to fire at an enemy base with large-caliber AC-130 guns - all these memorable moments perfectly compensate for the weak preamble.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 once again awarded an honorary gold medal. Infinity Ward has already written its name into the history of the gaming industry many times. And, most likely, he will write it several more times in the foreseeable future. Our congratulations!

Well, that’s all for today regarding texts, but there is still excellent video material ahead, which you will find just below. All we can do is say thank you for your participation and say goodbye until April 1st. I was with you today Evgeniy “Mumby” Molodov.

In addition, we remind you that right at this moment the first stage of preparation of the next material from the series “TOP-10: Your choice” began, in which you can take part. The topic was the best racing games.

Invite your friends and enjoy the best co-op games on PC.

Nobody and nothing - except a friend - can compare with a good blaster, who also has a good blaster, then you have a total of two blasters and you can blast twice as much. This is the beauty of our favorite co-op games, be it online multiplayer. In recent years, the ranks of the best co-op games, such as the time-tested Left 4 Dead and Arma 3, have been supplemented by new RPGs, shooters and crazy cooking simulators.

This is our latest collection of the best co-op games to play together. Some can brighten up your day, while others can brighten up entire months.

Retired from the main list

Vermintide borrows heavily from another game also featured on this list, or to be more precise, it's Left 4 Dead in Warhammer guise. But it still focuses on smoother, more original melee combat, and amazing special effects that make the game a worthy choice for friends when they want to squash a few Ratlings.

This game is especially attractive to fans of the Warhammer Fantasy universe, which is very familiar in the gaming world. The main actions in the game will be: picking up dropped items and equipment that can be upgraded. So, completing missions over and over again with friends will guarantee you a good time.

Warning - don't play KALIMBA with a new friend. Although the game looks like a light-hearted puzzle game, it is actually a powerful tool for pushing the limits of human tolerance. Each player has two colored totems. Solving the color puzzles isn't particularly difficult, but coordinating your moves to jump will be much more difficult, especially if you're relying on your partner.

Despite its complexity, it's surprising how intuitive Kalimba feels: watching someone else play turns out to be more exciting than picking up a controller yourself (for simplicity, it's better to use that one). It's hard, but no problem can be solved alone, and every victory is shared.

Magicka 2 is good in every way, just like the original. Magicka 2 fixed bugs, improved graphics, and added several modes to our favorite co-op. The only thing I didn't like was the casting system. Apparently, due to the large number of negative reviews, the developers added new spell elements and casting mechanics to be more in line with the original. In the sequel, even the most hardcore sorcerers will be able to enjoy brilliant magical battles with friends.

If Payday 2 is a mixture of good action films, then Monaco is one hundred percent, distilled Ocean's Eleven. In Monaco you need to pull off excellent heists, hence the excitement and tension, which in itself is the perfect combination for spending a good time with friends. This game is a lot of details, plans, and there is something so wonderful when you cut off the electricity while your partner distracts the guard.

An excellent RPG from Runic that managed to steer me away from Diablo III. It was more Diablo than Diablo itself, and that crazy dungeon crawl is even harder and more intense if you go there with someone. Diablo III has a maximum player count of four, but in Torchlight you can have up to six players. Too much? In a game where monsters explode and leave fountains of gold, "too much" is not the right word.

The three-character puzzle game Trine came out of nowhere, right around the time of the indie gaming boom in 2009. Trine's success spawned two more sequels. While Trine 3 was a bit of a disappointment this year, Trine 2 takes the best of the original, smoothes it out, improves it, and makes it all that much better. With the addition of online co-op, you can hand over control of two other characters to friends. As a gift, you are given a colorful picture and light, almost relaxing, puzzles.

is the first game in the series to deviate from the usual historical setting. Decades of creativity flows out of Warhammer's updated animation and wide range of classes, from dwarves who avenge wrongs by starting wars to vampire counts who fill their armies with the living dead. The story campaign also looks fresh, where the player will be pleased with the updated RPG mechanics with quests and selection of equipment for the heroes.

After Rome 2, Creative Assembly significantly improved the engine and the level of artificial intelligence of opponents, thanks to which Warhammer can be called one of the series. And, as before, the campaign mode can be played with a friend. Do you dare to unite the greenskins and the dwarves, two sworn enemies? You can also install the mod and play with a friend for the same faction. I couldn't think of a better cooperative strategy.

Overcooked is the natural embodiment of chaos. This is one of those cooperative games in which you need to join forces to win, even if after the end of the game you, not to mention, even want to see your partner anymore. But if you manage to catch the general rhythm and become part of a team coping with icy rivers, earthquakes in the kitchen, and even suddenly arriving pirate ships, then you will get indescribable pleasure.

Here everything is like in a real kitchen - one cuts onions, the second monitors the stove, and the third (the one who is best not allowed near the food) washes the dishes, running out of the kitchen from time to time. Overcooked was originally designed for multiplayer (playing it alone is not so fun), but, alas, the game only supports local network connections. But if you convince your friends to play the game, it will be one of the most unforgettable co-ops.

In the year since its release, The Division has evolved from an endless co-op cover shooter into a co-op shooter with a very clear end goal. Yes, long quests and chasing after upgraded equipment are not for everyone, but if you and your friends love shooters with character upgrades, then The Division is definitely worth paying attention to.

Walking through post-apocalyptic Manhattan, regular shootouts with bots and a set of non-standard missions will help each member of your team reveal their skills. The shootouts look very spectacular, and therefore a coordinated attack with grenade throws, deceptive maneuvers and covering fire, even for the hundredth time, will bring the same emotions as the first.

If your team wants to level up, then you can always find quests for any level in each of the five locations. In the Tier 2 location you will find raids and short missions where you need to show a well-coordinated team spirit. If you are interested not so much in shootouts as in quests with an emphasis on psychology, then choose the Dark Zone location, which may not show your friends the best side. If everyone has the updates installed, we recommend testing your strength in the Underground, Survival and upcoming Last Stand modes, where you can play both together and against each other, collecting weapons and equipment along the way.

Trying to pull off a complex heist in several stages in a team with not the most efficient bots in Payday 2 single player is not always fun, and sometimes even boring. But here the co-op mode comes to the rescue. With a friend, any heist turns into a mixture of "Ocean's 11" and "The Expendables."

And the only thing better than a stealthy robbery is a sudden change of plans, as a result of which an alarm sounds and you have to fight your way to the exit. And if the mistakes of bots are sometimes downright infuriating, then the mistakes of friends make the game much more interesting.

With its endless fun and weapon-heavy extravaganza, Borderlands 2 is one of the few games on this list that boasts a great single-player experience. You'll have a lot of fun exploring the planet Pandora, shooting goons from your car, endlessly replenishing your ammo as if you were trying to stock up for a gun party.

All this will be much more fun if you have a bunch of friends with you. Each character takes its place in the team, for example, on more difficult levels you will simply need to have a tank, a silent assassin and a medic in your team.

It's also worth noting that the durability of the creature and the value of the reward for killing them directly depend on the number of players in your team, so if you really want tough, bone-crushing action, you just need to find more friends.

Guacamelee is a vibrant mix of Metroids and Castlevanias styles, sprinkled with plenty of witty references and memorable carnival masks. The 2D art is simply stunning, as is the world exploration and combat system. What sets it apart from classic games from the Metroid and Castlevania series is its support for up to four players.

You can only play over a local network, so if you manage to lure your friends, they are unlikely to leave the screen until they explore every corner of Guacamelee.

Release: 2018 | Developer: Capcom | Buy

All Monster Hunter games can be played solo or with strangers online, but in co-op (with a friend) the game really unlocks its potential. There are combos here, like in all Capcom action games, almost like in Devil May Cry, but more risky and conscious, forcing you to study the attacks of these huge creatures.

More challenging monsters force you to cooperate and be on your guard at all times, and fights go much better when you and your partner specialize in different types of weapons. And grinding rare drops and monster parts will be much more fun with a couple of friends on discord.

Release: 2018 | Developer: Fatshark | Buy

This sequel to Vermintide definitely expands on the Left 4 Dead formula, adding an entirely new group of enemies in addition to the Skaven and a clearer leveling and loot system. The game feels good and moderately tough when you slam a huge club into the ratman's face. The build system is simple and is divided into five character types. If you like Left 4 Dead, but have already played it too much, Vermintide 2 will grab your attention and is perfect for a couple of dozen hours of bloody carnage.

Release: 2018 | Developer: Rare | Buy

Project Rare is a fun co-op sandbox, but it's really fun when played with friends. Sea of Thieves is a wonderful open world game and is completely undemanding - jump on board with your friends, choose a direction and just enjoy the boat ride, drinking grog, playing musical instruments and shooting each other with cannons. Or just chat with each other for an hour against the backdrop of a beautiful sunset.

For fun and profit, you can chase other teams and engage in ship-to-ship combat, look for lost treasures, or capture a skeleton fort, but it's just great to chat with friends like in a chat room with beautiful waves and a sudden Kraken.

You no longer have to deal with a dedicated group of characters that you form over time. You're dealing with three stubborn people trying to achieve different goals. Total War: Warhammer was the first project in which the company moved away from historical themes and it worked. 10 years of Warhammer creativity flows here, both in the animation and the diverse factions. In Warhammer 2, Creative Assembly tried to solve the problems of the series that have been present for many years: the gameplay ceases to hold up as the empire grows and dominates the world map.

What hasn't changed is launching a grand campaign with a friend, taking two friendly factions against the rest of the world. Sharing control over a huge army is truly a breakthrough: one of you can take care of local control and deployment of troops, while the second will carry out tactical cavalry raids. Or whatever it is in Warhammer, lizard-like people, huge bats and so on. If you have Warhammer 1, you can combine these games into a global campaign.

Warframe can get boring quickly, as the core gameplay involves completing randomly generated levels in an attempt to level up your character. And so time after time. Some missions are inconvenient to complete alone, and playing online with strangers is not suitable for everyone, especially beginners. But Warframe transforms if you invite your friend into it, turning into a fun virtual shooting gallery where you and a friend can shoot hordes of enemies.

And if the game hooks you, then you can spend more than one day understanding all the intricacies. You can sit until the morning, reading on forums strategies for upgrading things and crafting features. But you can also play it with friends who have just started it - you don’t have to go through it at the same time. You can go about your business and meet on the Grineer ship from time to time.

Cuphead doesn't get any easier just because a friend has your back in co-op. Adding a second player overloads the already overcrowded world with colorful animations and complicates the passage of this arcade side-scroller, so multiplayer is an option only for concrete best friends.

But in the same way that your brain and hands merge into perfect strength after many failures, and the gradual recognition of patterns takes root at the level of pure instinct, the interaction between two people turns into telepathy. Friendly telepathy with the goal of completing a cartoon game.

For a couple of years, Klei refused to include co-op in its gothic survival masterpiece, arguing that co-op mode would ruin the unique atmosphere, which consists entirely of a feeling of loneliness and independent exploration of the world. As it turned out, the developers worried in vain, because the notorious atmosphere in the company of friends is felt even brighter. At the moments when cyclops deer burst into your camp, destroying half of your winter supplies, you understand that it’s better to deal with this kind of thing in a cooperative.

Klei is renowned for its attention to detail and balance in its games, and Together's three main modes (Survival, Wilderness and Endless) have the perfect balance of item drops and character skills. The most interesting is the Endless mode. Chatting with a friend on Discord or Skype while trying to pool resources to survive the coming harsh winter - isn't that great? And remember: Happiness is a refrigerator full of frog legs.

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime (or LIADS) is truly an achievement in local multiplayer design. We've seen a resurgence of local multiplayer in PC games lately, but few have the style, color, and originality of LIADS.

LIADS also promotes intra-team conflict in places where other co-op games do not. With so many stations and only two crew members, failure comes from poor communication rather than lack of skill. The game is, of course, good, but it’s still annoying that there is no online co-op option. Despite this, it feels like the game is designed for co-op play while sitting on the same couch, plus there are a bunch of settings for the co-op mode.

A strange and grotesque co-op game with a brilliant idea: you and your friends will play as space cleaners, forced to clean up all the chaos that the brave space marines from other games leave behind. Grab a bucket with a rag and get ready to wash blood off walls, burn limbs, collect shell casings and repair pipes using welding. Yes, it's dirty work, but it's dirty work in space and with friends, and, oddly enough, it's enough to have a fun few evenings.

The highlight of Viscera Cleanup Detail is its physics, which sometimes throws up interesting surprises. For example, if you are carrying a bucket of bloody water and collide with another player, all the water will spill in the blink of an eye, creating even more work. Be prepared for unkind comments if you forget the dynamite in the stove; and, of course, nothing compares to the sight of your friend being crushed by a faulty elevator, even if it means another half hour of cleaning.

But the fun doesn't stop there: each corpse has name tags, and this is where most of the game's Easter eggs can be found. You can also find out what happens if you press all the buttons on a device that resembles dynamite (spoiler: it is dynamite) and ruin the final cleanliness rating for the level by trying to feed a chair to an alien octopus, which will lead to a large green burp on the ceiling, walls and your friends. This is a real gem of the gaming industry. And if you have a group of friends who are open to new ideas, then it's time to give the game a chance.

There are many good Lego games on the market that can be recommended to connoisseurs of this style: for example, Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Lego Batman 2 or Harry Potter, but Marvel games are superior to all others. They are not tied to specific film adaptations, and therefore you can see in them a team of Spider-Man, Captain America, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men (you don’t get this even in modern comics).

The levels here are interesting and inventive - you will visit Doctor Doom's castle, Stark Tower, Asgard and other locations. Essentially, this is a grand tour of the Marvel universe, created with great love for the characters, which is evident in their animation and voice acting. In addition, here you can explore Manhattan or jump from a S.H.I.E.L.D. carrier. This part is much more interesting than the sequel, which focuses on the adventures of the Avengers.

Exploration, mining, crafting and adventure in Starbound's massive 2D galaxy can keep you busy for hours. Completing story quests, creating colonies on other planets, upgrading your arsenal, ship and your abilities are implemented here in a very interesting way. And all this is multiplied by two if your friends join the game.

In co-op mode, you can easily invite friends to work on joint projects: destroy a couple of monsters or just walk around the spaceship. You are allowed to complete story quests, as well as fight bosses who are extremely difficult to defeat alone. The game has a fun chat design - everything written is displayed in bubbles above the characters' heads. An excellent solution that only complements the wonderful atmosphere.

Amplitude Studios made a name for themselves with Endless Space and Endless Legend, but their most creative and original project was their beautiful (if a little weird) game Dungeon of the Endless. A couple of fragile heroes and resources fall under your control; the main task is to save the crystal during periodic attacks from enemies. Everything here looks painfully familiar, but the small differences will still surprise you. Time moves only when the doors to the dungeon are opened. To complete the level, you need to find the crystal and make a mad dash to the exit, through the creatures swarming everywhere.

If you play alone, then it’s more of a tactical game, with the ability to press pause during the battle and think through your further strategy. Co-op removes this option and makes the game more intense. To survive at later difficult levels, you need to have a large supply of resources, a clear understanding of where who should be, and what towers to build. It’s so easy to get confused or run away, but that’s the whole point of the game.

The roguelike genre, plus tower defense, plus co-op and RPG, may seem like incompatible things, but they still go together.

The original Killing Floor deserves praise and, of course, it makes sense to recommend Killing Floor 2, since it is a serious step forward, here you will find more players and new levels, plus all sorts of bonuses are added to early access members. Killing Floor 2 is a big game, even in this unfinished state. It's an FPS where you and up to 5 other players must survive a series of attacks. During the defense you have to shoot and beat up some very restless test subjects.

Survival is sometimes very difficult (especially on difficult modes), and do not forget that teamwork is vital. It’s good that the Tripwire guns are made here at a high level: recoil and accuracy of fire.

What I like most about this game is the paperwork. Stop, stop! Come back! KTNB is a game based on the scene that every action movie has where the hero has to defuse a bomb and some nerd on the phone asks him “what do you see?”

KTNB is making waves with the Oculus Rift, but you don't need the experimental VR hardware to enjoy the game. The deminer can take the laptop from one side of the sofa, and the advisers open their demining instructions on the other side. Communication is the most important thing in this game, and any number of players can give advice, making KTNB a terrifyingly team-based game.

GTA has a lot going for it, but co-op heists are probably the best thing Rockstar has to offer in an open world game. Four players team up to overcome a series of story missions in which each character plays a different role as they take part in a grand heist. There will be everything from stealing vehicles as part of the preparation for a robbery, to murder and other interrelated tasks.

Missions cleverly make everyone feel like they are playing a key role in all these troubles on the path to fabulous wealth.

Having all four players reach the end of each heist while escaping the cops in dramatic fashion is far more satisfying than the game's main story. If only Rockstar would make more missions like this. They would have paid for themselves in full.

There's no doubt that Portal 2 has a very crude co-op experience. As two test robots, Atlas and P-Body, you and your friend must learn the darker, more dangerous side of the GLaDOS programs, as they are too dangerous for human test subjects. The 3D spatial thinking that makes the Portal series so addictive will work even better when you're not alone in solving problems.

Co-op in a game is great if neither of you knows the answer: if your partner has to wait patiently for you to solve a riddle every time, you feel like an idiot; if not, they will rush you, which is what makes the game really cool. It’s true that it’s very difficult, several years after the game’s release, to find newcomers. Luckily, Valve's team of map editors have created a full set of excellent new maps for paired play.

First off, Guacamelee 2 has had a place on this list for years, thanks to its Metroid-esque spirit and co-op support. The sequel supports up to four players, allowing you to travel together and have tons of fun, colorful combos in a classic beat-em-up. A more recent game, in contrast to the slow and atmospheric Hollow Knight, which is why co-op fits so well here. Stupid, exaggerated (in terms of characters) and with really fun fights. You can also now play as a chicken.

It may have been surpassed by Original Sin 2, but it's still one of the best: a deep, rewarding RPG that you can play with a friend.

Divinity: Original Sin stands out for several reasons. First, it's a return to classic RPG form. Secondly, you can explore this deep world and absurdly funny texts together with a friend, this opportunity appeared for the first time in the game, and is popular with gamers.

The Enhanced Edition has completely revised the voice acting, pictures and trophies. There are also new modes for fans of brutal combat, or those who want to explore the history of the world.

A massive, 100-hour RPG can be played with friends on a drop-in/drop-out basis, but the most dedicated of you should understand that you will have obligations to your playing partner. These are huge consequences, so it’s better to take your best friends as a partner so that you can experience a story with them that you won’t find anywhere else.

Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator

Year of issue: 2011 | Developer: Thomas Robertson | Buy

Let's get one thing straight: Artemis is not a Star Trek game. There are a number of legal reasons for this. Agreed? Agreed. Definitely not based on Star Trek.

So, Artemis is one of the best Star Trek games. It is presented as a “simulator of the captain's bridge on a spaceship,” and its highlight is that each player has his own control scheme with different data. Players (captain, gunners, helmsmen, engineers, operators and scientists) see only a screen in front of them, so, say, an engineer will not be able to help the gunners or take the helm. But he will be able to distribute energy among the engines.

At the center of everything is the captain, who, oddly enough, does not have any screens in front of his eyes: he simply yells at his subordinates to do what is required. In last year's version 2.0, we saw many innovations affecting control schemes and the general style of drawing. If you have only played the first version of Artemis, we recommend getting a group together and playing the new upgrade on a local network.

It's incredible how quickly you adapt to the military system of orders and responses (“Helmsman, set course for Deep Space 1, hold half impulse.” “Half impulse to DS1, that's right, Captain”). And this is not because you have gotten used to the role, but because here you need to formulate commands clearly and concisely, otherwise you will all die. Well, maybe a little because you got used to the role.

Year of issue: 2013 | Developer: Bohemia Interactive | Buy

The ability to play with two or three will not surprise anyone, but the Arma engine supports dozens of players simultaneously. There's actually a lot to see here, one plays pilot, takes you and ten other people to a war zone, leaves you there to link up with twenty other people for an assault. Arma 3 isn't strictly a co-op game, but I'm including it on the list because it becomes truly memorable when everyone is on the same side against an overwhelming AI enemy.

As you dive into Arma 3, be sure to check out the Zeus multiplayer mode. One player, in the role of Zeus, leads the game as a D&D-style dungeon master, breeding equipment and enemies. As soon as you anger Zeus, he will immediately send lightning strikes at you. This is one of the fantastic co-op missions that you should never miss.

This is one of the best games for PC. Isn't there a reason to download it? No? Most people see Spelunky as a single-player game, but all the fun is in the multiplayer. There's so much that can go wrong here - a stray rock, bomb, vase (or any other object) can send your friend diving towards sharp spikes, but that's just a small part of the potential of co-op play. Remember: when you're playing through a game together, don't underestimate the power of magic.

It’s easier to carry important objects around the level with two pairs of hands. A dead player can be resurrected at the next level, which makes completing Spelunky much easier. You can even create cunning plans - one distracts the merchant, and the second drops bombs on him. In most cases, of course, everything goes down the drain, but isn’t that why we sit down to play Spelunky?

Fanatically balanced, well-written shooter Left 4 Dead 2 is built on the struggle of four surviving members of one team. As soon as an incredible number of zombie monsters are sent to the team, the team needs to clearly coordinate its actions, and be ready at any time to save a comrade at the last second, so that later such a story can be safely retold.

Valve also deserves credit for how long they've been supporting L4D2, adding level editors, Steam Workshop support, porting maps and characters from Left 4 Dead 1, and continuing to offer "mutations", frequently changing game modes that offer something new for experienced players. players.

Left 4 Dead 2's active modding community is also a huge part of why the game is so highly regarded, having produced new campaigns such as . This allowed L4D2 to remain fun even after the base company became completely obsolete. Plus, you get to play as a Velociraptor, which certainly guarantees our highest rating.

Half-Life 1 and 2

Release date: the first - 1998, the second - 2004.

A series of sci-fi first-person shooters that tell us the story of theoretical physicist Gordon Freeman, who is also the only one who can save the Earth from aliens. The games in the series are almost icons of the genre, largely due to the exciting gameplay, thoughtful level design and unusual plot presentation. In addition, the engine of the second part of the Source game (of course, significantly improved) is even today actively used by game makers to create their projects.

Despite the fact that every game in the Half-Life series is a single-player game, for a certain time Valve has been giving out a modification for co-op absolutely free of charge. In fact, the game becomes reoriented towards two players, receives new puzzles and a number of cooperative opportunities.

Serious Sam series

Release date: 2001-2011

A series of first-person shooters that stand out from many similar games with their whirlwind gameplay, when the player needs to shoot back from a huge number of opponents, using an equally huge arsenal of weapons. The total number of enemies per game can reach several thousand! Battles are cleverly diluted with simple puzzles and searching for keys, as well as jumping on platforms, dodging spikes, etc.

Another feature of this series is the possibility of cooperative completion of levels. Players liked the opportunity to smash various monsters to pieces together with a partner. Add in a bit of absurd humor and an original storytelling style, and it becomes immediately clear why Serious Sam is very popular among players even today.

Garry's Mod

Release date: 2004

Using this modification, you can, for example, connect, copy, change sizes or textures, and perform other actions with various game objects based on the Source engine. In addition, in addition to the “sandbox” mode, the modification has several fun online game modes.

It is worth noting that for the modification to work, players will need any game on the Source engine. In this case, the objects and characters of Half-Life 2 will immediately become available to the player, because they are included in the main distribution of the engine. Other games will allow you to use their content in the sandbox.

The lion's share of the time we will be rushing around different ends of the map, destroying ordinary opponents and officers in batches. For defeating enemies we receive gold and experience. The first is used to purchase equipment and some abilities, the second is used to improve your characteristics. Improved characters make more powerful combos and can use their super attack more often.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Release date: 2007

Genre: First person shooter,

A first-person shooter dedicated, as you might guess, to modern warfare. The game is distinguished by high-quality, precise gameplay, an excellent plot and its competent presentation. The first game in the Modern Warfare subseries, in which the developers for the first time decided to move away from World War II. The project was highly appreciated by both critics and players. The excellent multiplayer mode played a significant role in this.

In multiplayer, players have access to several modes, in particular: Free play (every man for himself), Team battle, Championship (capture flags), Headquarters (capture and hold headquarters), Sabotage (planting a bomb and protecting your base from it), Find and destroy (the same thing, only one team must plant the bomb, the second must prevent this from happening). In subsequent parts of the subseries, modes for cooperative play were also implemented.

The game is designed primarily for cooperative play, and when playing solo, your partner will be controlled by artificial intelligence. The game focuses heavily on the story and gunplay, in which the player can hide behind various objects and shoot blindly. The levels are fairly linear, but there is often the possibility of a tactical bypass.

Features of the game also include the ability to exchange weapons with allies, as well as the fact that the player almost never has to look for ammunition, since a partner can always give out a small portion of the necessary ammunition. In addition to the story campaign, the game also has a network mode, where players need to steal as much money as possible from the bank.

Left for Dead

The main feature of the game is the presence of a so-called “director”, who adjusts the gameplay depending on the actions of the players, making each playthrough unique.

The project received many positive reviews, as well as a number of significant awards, largely due to its unique gameplay, with an emphasis on team action, as well as a gloomy atmosphere of horror and despair. On November 17, 2009, the second part was released, which subsequently added maps and campaigns of the first part. It is worth noting that a lot of people still play the game.

Two parts of the famous game series, made in the genre of third-person shooters, in which the player, in the company of a partner (controlled by a second player or artificial intelligence), goes through all sorts of missions filled with various mutants and zombies. The games are divided into small chapters, often with a mandatory boss at the end. Between chapters, the player can purchase equipment or improve existing ones.

The main difference between the sixth part and the fifth is the presence of as many as four story campaigns, the events of which take place in parallel with each other and often intersect at key points. Moreover, each of the campaigns is slightly different in gameplay. Thus, the campaign for Leon and Helena is more similar to the classic Resident Evil, and the campaign for Chris and Pierce is reminiscent of the fifth part of the franchise.

Killing Floor 1 and 2

Between waves, players can purchase weapons and equipment from the store (money is earned by killing mutants). There is also a small RPG element here. In particular, you can improve your character’s perks for the experience gained in battles.

Both parts of the game were warmly received by the gaming community. Many noted the similarity of this project with the game Left 4 Dead, but at the same time emphasized that the Killing Floor franchise is not without its own uniqueness and is definitely capable of leaving a positive impression.

Trine 1-3

The main feature of the games in the series is the ability to complete levels as three different characters at once, switching between them at the right time. Each of the characters has their own unique skills that will be necessary for the player at different stages of the levels.

The locations are built in such a way that sooner or later the player has to take control of one or another character. For example, a knight can fight with opponents and use a shield to protect the team from enemy projectiles. The thief uses a bow and arrow, as well as a grappling hook. The magician has the ability to create objects and move them in space. The games in the series also include co-op for 3 people and special levels for playing together.

Borderlands 1 and 2

The game has several playable characters with their own unique skills, many quests (which is more typical for MMORPGs) and a lot of all kinds of loot (weapons, upgrade modules, etc.).

The game has an interesting feature - procedurally generated weapons and items that can receive improved firepower or, for example, effects such as setting the enemy on fire. The same system is used to create special enemies that players encounter along the way. It is also worth noting the unique hand-drawn style, which has become a kind of calling card of the series.

In addition to the story campaign and co-op, the games in the series have several multiplayer modes, which also feature deeper character customization, including a wide selection of models of the face, legs, torso, etc. In general, the projects received mostly positive reviews, in which players noted excellent multiplayer content and original monster designs.

Magicka 1 and 2

Release date: the first - 2011, the second - 2015.

A fun action-adventures focused on co-op. In both parts of the series, the player, in the role of one of the wizards, in the company of his friends (up to 4 players), must go through all kinds of levels in order to stop the “Dark Evil”. The series amazes with a huge number of all kinds of magical combinations, as well as absurd situations that arise as it progresses. The degree of absurdity is also increased by the fact that friendly fire is always on here and with some particularly massive spell you can accidentally fry your comrades. Such errors will occur to you often, moreover, the game expects and demands them from you!

In general, the whole point of the series is in the cheerful co-op, which is equipped with a huge amount of humor. The games also contain references to everything possible, various secrets and artifacts, as well as a flexible spell system based on the combination of various elements (which often gives unpredictable and sometimes even funny results).

Terraria

Release date: 2011

Genre: Arcade, adventure, RPG, sandbox,

An adventure indie sandbox in which the player can explore the world, mine resources, create various objects and structures, fight monsters, and all this in a huge randomly generated 2D location. At the same time, the location has a clear zoning, and some types of monsters or resources can only be found in a certain zone. The variety of items, equipment and enemies in the game is very large, in particular, the number of items alone here exceeds 2000!

With one of the patches, co-op was added to the game, as well as an “expert mode”. In the co-op mode, several people can now explore the world at once, and the “expert mode” significantly complicates the game, in particular, the mobs become stronger, and the dropped loot is much less than in normal modes.

Portal 2

Release date: 2011

Genre: First person puzzle

The second part of the famous “portal” puzzle with a first-person view, which develops and improves the gameplay of the first part. The gameplay here is also built around a special device that allows you to create portals in space and instantly move to the right place. In addition to moving the player directly, the portal gun also helps move various objects (for example, companion cubes or turrets). The game is among the top games with

Among the many gameplay innovations in Portal 2, it is worth noting the presence of a cooperative mode, which allows you to complete levels in the company of another player. Moreover, each player can use both their own portals and those of their partner (although there is no connection between all four portals in the game). Most co-op puzzles also rely on players interacting with various elements (often using portals), but co-op is much more complex than solo play.

Lord of the Rings: War in the North

Release date: 2011

Genre: RPG, third person action

An action role-playing game with up to three player co-op elements, inspired by the works of J. R. R. Tolkien, in which players take on the role of one of several heroes and travel to various locations in the world of Middle-earth. The project does not repeat the hackneyed plots of the original trilogy, but highlights events unfolding parallel to the main plot of the books, thereby expanding the LotR universe.

There are three characters in the game, each of whom has their own abilities and will be much better at something than the others (for example, the elf specializes in healing the team and raising morale, and the dwarf is good for frontal attacks and withstanding a large amount of damage). On their way, the heroes will meet many different monsters, and at the end of each level they will have a boss battle, after which they can get useful loot and level up their character.

Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide

Release date: the first - 2011, the second - 2013.

Genre: First-person shooter with RPG elements, zombies, open world

First-person action game in the survival horror genre with role-playing elements, a huge open world and an emphasis on cooperative passage of the story campaign. The heroes of the game are tourists who, by chance, find themselves right in the center of a local zombie apocalypse. Now the player in the role of one of the characters, having gathered a company of up to three of his friends, will have to find out the cause of the pandemic, and then escape from one, and then from another, infected island.

The basis of the gameplay here is to explore the island, fight with the infected, and complete main and secondary quests. During the course of the game, players gain experience, which can be spent on leveling up their character, and also find supplies and weapons. The latter breaks down as you use it, so you will have to constantly look for the best weapon (or repair and/or improve the existing one).

Overcooked 1 and 2

Release date: the first - 2012, the second - 2018.

Genre: Indie

A cooperative arcade game designed for completing levels in a company of up to four people on one screen, in which the best chefs from all over the world must save the world from an eternally hungry monster (in the first part of the game) and the Walking Bread (in the second). The project features funny cartoon graphics and original gameplay.

Each level here is a unique location (a cafe, a pirate ship, the mouth of an active volcano, ice blocks, etc.), where players create culinary masterpieces and feed visitors for a while. At the same time, something at the level constantly interferes with the completion of the assigned tasks. For example, due to the rocking motion on the ship, players will constantly have to chase plates moving back and forth, and on ice blocks it is very difficult to stand on your own.

Torchlight II

Release date: 2012

Genre: Third person RPG, indie,

An action RPG in a steampunk world, where the player, represented by one of four characters, must complete levels, fight monsters, collect loot and level up his character. In some ways the game is reminiscent of the famous Diablo, however, with its own unique features. So, in particular, the game contains familiars, it is possible to catch fish, and in general there are some gameplay “tricks” that are more suitable for the MMORPG genre.

There is also the possibility of cooperative play (for the absence of which many criticized the first part of the game). Co-op supports play for up to six people, with the number of players directly influencing the number of opponents thrown against them. The multiplayer game itself remains the same as the single-player game without any special innovations.

Dead Space 3

Release date: 2013

Genre: Third person shooter, survival horror,

A third-person sci-fi survival horror game that is the final game in the Dead Space trilogy. Compared to previous installments of the franchise, the gameplay has undergone significant changes. So, for example, our character can crouch and hide behind cover, and the opponents are not only necromorphs, but also fanatical soldiers, and therefore battles can take place on three sides at once. Another feature of the gameplay is the possibility of playing the game cooperatively for two people.

Interestingly, the cooperative version of the game has some differences from the single player version. For example, some side quests can only be obtained in co-op. In addition, each player can from time to time experience hallucinations that are invisible to their partner, and begin to react to them (for example, shooting in different directions at non-existent enemies, hitting their friend).

Don't Starve

Release date: 2013

Genre: Indie, survival horror, sandbox, roguelike

An exciting sandbox in the action-adventure genre with elements of the roguelike and survival genres, the world of which is randomly generated with each new game. Before starting a new game, the player can choose a character for himself, as well as change a number of settings, after which he appears in a random place and begins to survive, while trying to figure out what is happening. One of the features of the game is that there is no training here - just take it and master everything yourself.

In April 2016, a multiplayer version of the game was released, in which all previously released content was embedded, and a number of innovations were added. So, for example, now the character does not die, but becomes a ghost with his own abilities and skills. In addition, in survival mode it is possible to resurrect each other. In addition, the multiplayer game can take place both cooperatively and with the possibility of PVP.

Payday 2

Release date: 2013

Genre: First person shooter, bandits

A cooperative bank robbery simulator in the first-person shooter genre. At the beginning of the battle, the owner of the gaming room chooses a contract and its complexity, after which a team of four people goes on missions. The tasks in the game are very diverse - it could be robbing a bank or a jewelry store, or maybe guarding a drug laboratory. In addition to the main tasks, the game contains random events that significantly diversify the gameplay.

The game is designed exclusively for team actions. This is especially well revealed in the division of characters into classes, each of which will be very useful during the passage. In general, competent pumping plays a very important role here. And it’s much more interesting to play with a well-developed and well-played team than with random players who sometimes may not behave very adequately.

Saints Row IV

Release date: 2013

Genre: Third person shooter, mafia,

An open-world, third-person action-adventure game in which the player controls the leader of the Third Street Saints gang and becomes President of the United States in the process! The game is an example of a purely entertainment product that does not pretend to realism or a thoughtful plot, but claims to have the most varied, fun and sometimes even absurd gameplay. On our website the game is included in the top games with.

The game is distinguished by an abundance of humor, whirlwind gameplay (most of which is made possible thanks to the superpowers of the main character), as well as the incredible convenience of all game mechanics. On the plus side, it is also worth noting the presence of co-op, which was added to Saints Row 4 with one of the add-ons. In it, the main character's associates from the main plot are sent to hell to free their boss from his forced marriage to Satan's daughter.

Arma 3

Release date: 2013

Genre: First person shooter, open world

Tactical first-person shooter with role-playing game elements. This is essentially a hardcore military simulator, where your shots will be affected by parameters such as gravity or wind, and the body position or fatigue of the character will have a positive or negative effect on your shooting accuracy. For the first time in the series, it became possible to dive underwater, secretly infiltrating enemy bases or destroying surface ships by planting mines. Another innovation is the presence of drones, which allow you to quietly find out the location of the enemy.

Network play and co-op are implemented in the game, however, not all missions are available for co-op, which, however, is solved with the help of the Steam workshop, where a fruitful community of fans has released a huge number of modifications, including for co-op. For cooperative passage, you can unite both together and in small groups.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes

Release date: 2013

Genre: Third person action, RPG

One of the many games in the Lego series, made in the action-adventure genre and telling about the adventures of the superheroes of the Marvel universe. The game is a prequel to Lego Marvel's Avengers, but has an original plot in which Nick Fury assembles a team of superhumans. In general, the gameplay is not very different from other games under the logo of the famous designer. Alone or in the company of a partner, we run through the levels, fight enemies and solve simple puzzles, collecting Lego pieces along the way that fall out of almost any object.

Unlike other Lego games, the gameplay has become more dynamic, and we have the whole Manhattan open for exploration, in which we can steal cars (like in some GTA), help non-player characters and destroy almost everything around. Naturally, doing this in the company of your friend is many times more interesting and fun.

Insurgency

Release date: 2014

Genre: First person shooter,

A realistic multiplayer tactical first-person shooter with a focus on team action, dedicated to the Iraq War. At the center of events are US private military companies and Iraqi rebels, between whom the fighting takes place. The teams in the game are divided into combat sections, where each player has his own clearly demarcated specialization and, accordingly, a game task. For the sake of realism, there are no interface elements on the screen, and the player’s death occurs after 1-2 hits.

The game literally forces allies to act together, because otherwise you will simply be destroyed by a more competent and tactically savvy enemy. Entering this game after some CS or Battlefield, you literally understand that you are just a burden and have never played real shooters. The game will require straight hands, good reactions and the ability to act harmoniously in a team.

Divinity: Original Sin

Release date: 2014

Genre: Third person RPG,

A turn-based RPG based on the game mechanics of classic role-playing games. So, for example, we have two characters, who, as we progress, will be joined by other game characters, who also build certain relationships with each other: they can have sympathy, antipathy, love, etc. In battles there are action points, and interaction bonuses between characters, backstabs, etc. have a significant impact on the battle. There is also a co-op mode in which 2 players can go through the storyline (and 4 players can play in multiplayer).

The game features deep interaction with the world. For example, almost all items can be transferred here or tried to be combined with each other. In addition, various elements can interact with each other here, for example, a wet enemy will receive less damage from fire). In general, the project turned out to be very deep and will certainly appeal to all fans of the genre.

Destiny

Release date: 2014

Genre: First person shooter, RPG

A futuristic online first-person shooter that also includes MMO elements. The story campaign in the game is a kind of preparation of the player for high-level multiplayer content, in which Destiny is revealed in all its glory. And even the joint passage of the initial stages is tied to the level of the players, i.e. You won’t be able to get into a team with players much stronger or weaker than you.

The game has three character classes, and each of the characters also has a special Ghost robot that constantly accompanies us and helps us in every possible way. The gameplay is designed for cooperative play, since, as in many MMOs, independent play here is uninteresting and ineffective. In multiplayer, there are several modes, and random events periodically appear on the maps, in which, with proper luck, we can participate.

Dungeon of the Endless

Release date: 2014

Genre: RPG, indie, tower defense

An exciting roguelike game with elements of such genres as tactics, strategy, RPG and tower defense. The premise of the game is simple, we are on a prison ship crashing over a planet, which we now need to explore by choosing a couple of characters and, with their help, making our way up from the dungeon into which the spaceship landed. The locations here are divided into rooms in which both monsters and something valuable can appear. Moreover, in already completed rooms, monsters are guaranteed to appear and will head towards the crystal sticking out of the wreckage of the ship (its destruction entails loss), so the player will have to worry about defense.

The game also features excellent co-op, in which you not only have to micromanage, but also coordinate with a partner (or partners of up to 4 players). Those. in battles you have to agree on who is responsible for what, divide resources in half and decide who will build what now.

Miscreated

Release date: 2014

Genre: MMO, first and third person shooter, survival, zombies

A first/third person action game with sandbox and survival horror elements, positioning itself as a global rethinking of DayZ with its own unique features. In general, everything is quite standard for the genre - we have a huge location in which we appear with practically no means of subsistence. There is despondency and devastation all around, caused by the apocalypse, but we must simply survive, getting food, drink, uniforms, weapons, etc.

The game has the possibility of co-op. Surviving with a friend is much more interesting, given that the game world is extremely aggressive. Zombies can appear completely unexpectedly, and aggressive other players cause a lot of trouble. The game is in the open test stage, but it’s good that the developers are constantly improving the game and adding a lot of new content to it.

Depth

Release date: 2014

Genre: First Person Shooter

A multiplayer action game in which the player can take control of a huge shark or a diver. Obviously, the gameplay will be different in both cases. So, for example, a shark relies on its own strength and stealth (there is even the possibility of improving its skills), and a diver, whose task is to extract treasure from the depths, can acquire weapons and equipment to better resist the predator.

There can be up to four divers and two sharks in one round. The arsenal of scuba divers includes all kinds of mines, grenades, underwater pistols, knives, harpoons, tracking systems, turrets, etc. It would seem that with such an arsenal, sharks are in a losing situation. But be that as it may! The game developers have done a good job of balancing the sides, so every fight between humans and a predator will be unique and unpredictable.

HELLDIVERS

Release date: 2015

Genre: Top-down shooter

An arcade isometric shooter with a focus on co-op, in which four brave space marines must save the planet from hordes of alien bugs. Teamwork is the key to success in this game, as evidenced by the dynamism of the battle and the firepower of the opponents. You can win here only with a full-fledged team and wisely using the skills of your characters. Plus, co-op is where the real fun begins.

In general, everything here is done at a high level. Driving an armored vehicle into the midst of enemies and causing chaos there is an incomparable pleasure. The game contains a lot of beetles and robots, a competent mixture of dynamics and stealth, as well as excellent humor and high-quality graphics.

Rockstar's largest and most ambitious project, which everyone unanimously dubbed an all-time hit! The game world is simply huge, there are even more opportunities available to the player, an excellent plot and many missions (including side missions) - this is only a small part of everything that the project has to offer.

The GTA Online multiplayer mode can offer even more opportunities to players, in which you can explore the world alone or with friends, perform special cooperative missions (including bank robberies), take part in all sorts of competitions and third-party entertainment, or simply cause total mayhem . The main goal of the online mode is to earn money, which you can immediately spend on purchasing movable and immovable property.

Combat takes place from a third person perspective. Here the player can use both weapons and powerful spells. There are battles with epic bosses, random events, and much more. Another advantage of the project is the presence of a cooperative of up to four people, which allows you to explore dungeons, build buildings and fight opponents together.

Tom Clancy's The Division

Release date: 2016

Genre: Third person shooter, post-apocalyptic

A third-person co-op action game set in the near future in New York City. The player finds himself in the center of a viral epidemic, and eliminating its consequences will directly depend on the actions of all participants in the game. The project is structured in such a way that the most suitable teammates for your playing style will be selected for your team, and the total group size can reach four people.

As the player progresses, he will find himself in the so-called “dark zone,” which is essentially a PVP and PVE zone. In it, players can either fight against each other or try to stick together, fighting stronger and more durable NPCs. Here players must find various in-game items and then evacuate them using a helicopter.

Dead by Daylight

Release date: 2016

Genre: Third person action, horror,

A cooperative survival horror with a first/third person view, in which a group of up to four survivors must escape from a killer maniac by completing various tasks on the map (turning on and repairing generators, etc.). All characters here are controlled by living players, while both survivors and killers have their own unique gameplay and playstyle.

During the game, all characters can be upgraded. In addition, between game sessions you can purchase various items that can help in survival (or vice versa in killing survivors). In general, the game offers a fairly varied gameplay, and if for the killer the variability of the passage is limited only by the skills of a particular character, then for the survivors players can choose whether to act together or try to survive on their own.

Battlefield 1

Release date: 2016

Genre: First person shooter,

Online first-person shooter based on the events of the First World War. And although the game has a single-player campaign, the main emphasis here is still on multiplayer. The player has four classes to choose from, each with their own set of skills, abilities and weapons. Map battles can include up to 64 players. The game has various locations and a variety of equipment that can be used.

In general, the gameplay is largely traditional for the series, but the developers tried to make everything much more interesting, larger-scale, cooler, which, by the way, they did. The game is captivating from the first minutes, largely thanks to the gameplay, polished to the smallest detail and incredibly beautiful graphics, for which the project received a number of prestigious awards. I’m also glad that the developers release large-scale DLC with enviable frequency.

TheHunter: Call of the Wild

Release date: 2017

Genre: First person shooter, hunting simulator, adventure

A hunter simulator with a first-person view, in which literally everything is wonderful: a huge open world, a wide variety of all kinds of game, colorful graphics and even a cooperative mode for joint hunting. Among the minuses, it is worth noting the not very high-quality optimization of the game, which the developers, hopefully, will correct in subsequent patches.

The first thing I would like to note here is the locations that amaze with their beauty. And although this project is about hunting, there is something to do in the game besides killing animals. So, for example, here you can collect antlers, find notes, photograph local beauties, etc. The game is leisurely and meditative, so the project is very much for everyone, but this is rather not a minus, but rather its feature. It's a little more fun to play with a partner, so co-op is highly recommended, especially if you're new to this genre.

PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS

Release date: 2017

Genre: Third person shooter, adventure

A multiplayer survival simulator in which the player and 99 other people land at various points on a large island and begin to survive, along the way finding supplies and weapons, and destroying other players. The essence of the game is to be the last survivor on the island. You can play solo, duo, or in a squad of up to 3-4 people.

The game as a whole is very dynamic, and at a certain moment it encourages players to take active action by creating the so-called white, blue and red zones. The white zone is safe, in the blue zone players gradually lose health, and the red zone is subject to massive shelling. The white and blue circles get smaller after a certain time, forcing players to move towards the center and fight each other.

Alien Swarm: Reactive Drop

Release date: 2017

Genre: Third person shooter, arcade,

An arcade cooperative shooter in an isometric projection, which contains both the original game and a custom modification with a bunch of changes. The premise is simple - to save the planet, a squad of elite fighters is assembled, the character of which we control. In the original game, the squad consisted of four people, in turn, the modification expanded it to eight. It is worth noting that this add-on is no longer focused on the story campaign, which can be played just fine with four players, but on additional modes that are somewhat reminiscent of “mutations” from the game Left 4 Dead.

The essence of the main game is still to exterminate hordes of aliens in the spirit of the good old Alien Shooter, but again, in the company of your friends, which adds more dynamics to the game and a number of unique cooperative features.

Nine Parchments

Release date: 2017

Genre: Arcade

A cooperative arcade game in the Trine universe about fugitive half-educated magicians who want to find nine lost manuscripts. The game is based on learning, creating and combining various spells with incredible and sometimes very unexpected effects. As a result, there are many accidents on the way of the fugitives.

The gameplay of the project combines elements of action and RPG - magicians fight with staves and spells, collect magical trophies and level up in one of several development paths of the player's choice. Each enemy is painted a certain color, which reflects its vulnerability to one of the elements (fire, ice, etc.). There are also bosses in the game, to which you need to select your own tactics, distributing certain roles between players.

Monster Hunter: World

Release date: 2018

Genre: RPG, third person action

The fifth part of the famous Monster Hunter series of games, made in the Action/RPG genre from a third person and designed for co-op for up to four people. The players' task is to, as hunters, track down monsters in their habitat, destroy them, create more powerful objects and hunt more serious monsters. The game has fourteen types of original weapons with their own unique attacks and properties, many monsters, pet assistants and much more.

As in previous games in the series, the player takes on the role of a Hunter, but now players need to act as a team. Characters do not have skills; they are determined depending on their equipment. In particular, the weapon in the game determines the fighting style and the player’s role in the team, and armor provides various skills that can and should also be selected to suit your playing style. Players need to craft all this (as well as various drinks, traps, etc.) from resources obtained from monsters and resources found at the location.

Dwarves have a division into specializations with their own unique role in the squad and their own leveling tree: scout, marksman, engineer and driller.
