The main drawback is that a month after the purchase, the plastic side frame, made to look like aluminum, like on the third iPhone, began to peel off. In the second year of use, the phone also began to freeze a lot and simply turn off when launching complex offers (but these are the applications that should officially be launched and played on this smartphone). The screen is terrible. I don't know, the pixel density there is probably 5 pixels per inch. :D

This was my first phone with touch controls, that is, a multi-touch screen. Before this, there were devices that had to be used with a stylus. And those with buttons. At first I had nothing to compare with. Again, the Android system and the play market with many games. This impressed me. I bought this phone in 2012. It cost $300 back then. The first year the screen worked perfectly and I couldn’t be happier, nothing was hanging and almost all the games were running. It is easy to use, as it has a fairly small screen (3.65").

Either this is a factory defect, or this is a problem with the settings: it doesn’t connect to my Netgir N150 router, or rather, it connects, but it doesn’t connect to the network: and at the same time the whole point disappears.

1) This is a Camera. It doesn’t even have touch focus! And for that kind of money (1899 UAH) they could install a front camera for Skype, well, at least 0.3 Mpx.
2) Sound. At high volumes there is no bass at all and the high frequencies wheeze. The sound is quiet (and no matter how I tried to go into the system menu (*#*#6961#*#*), there was no sound adjustment!)
3) The battery runs out instantly. Literally in 3-4 hours of watching videos and games.
4) Brakes and Performance. Okay, you can forgive the unimportant sound, a simple camera without touch-focus and a battery, but there are no brakes. The smartphone slows down terribly (Especially with Wi-Fi on) and Dead Trigger crashes for me. And even simple Angry Birds with 2D graphics it crashes every once in a while. Damn, my Windows XP on a laptop with 1 GB of RAM slows down less than the Ace Plus. I don’t know how it works for anyone, it always freezes for me. Especially with the Multitouch gesture on the main screen.
5) Only 1 GB for Applications.

Improved version of the previous model. However, the improvements affected only the processor and memory, the display diagonal increased slightly, but its resolution, camera and much more remained the same. Actually, it repeated the fate of last year’s Galaxy S line. I won't be surprised if in a month or two we see Ace Plus 2 :)

Not everything is clear about the price either. For example, the recommended retail price for Samsung Y Pro Duos was stated to be 9,990 rubles. Less than a couple of weeks later, the price dropped to 8,000 rubles. I think that the situation will be the same: now the device will go on sale at an RRP of 11,990 rubles, and after a short period of time it will become cheaper by two thousand.

Design, dimensions, control elements

In mid-January I was at the Samsung office and had the opportunity to get acquainted with a test sample. At that time, its design did not bother me at all, since it could have been a prototype. Some time later, a commercial sample came into my hands, and I was quite surprised. It is clear that the appearance was unlikely to be very different from the “first” Ace, but using black glossy plastic on the rear panel, in my opinion, is too primitive. And this despite the fact that the back cover of the Samsung S5830 is made of matte plastic with a relief surface, and the new Wave M/Y and Galaxy Wonder are made of similar materials. In short, design is a thing of the past: the battle between the iPhone 3GS and the Galaxy S.

The back side collects fingerprints and also has minor scratches and abrasions. The assembly is excellent: nothing crunches, does not play, the back cover does not press through.

The phone fits well in the hand thanks to the streamlined body shape and light weight (115 grams). The dimensions of the device are 114.5 x 62.5 x 11.2 mm, i.e. 3 millimeters thinner, but slightly wider and longer than the previous model.


The front panel contains a proximity sensor and a speaker. Its quality is quite good: the volume is high, the interlocutor can be heard clearly and intelligibly. Below the screen is a mechanical rectangular Home button, and on the left and right are Menu and Back. The backlight of the touch buttons is white, dim. At the bottom there is a microUSB connector (in the previous model it was covered with a curtain) and a microphone, at the top there is a 3.5 mm audio output for headphones or a headset. The volume rocker key is on the left side, on the right is the on/off button for the smartphone. The speakerphone, camera and flash are located on the back. The camera module is slightly raised above the body, so it may be subject to scratches, which may reduce the quality of photos.

The sensitivity is slightly higher than average and is comparable to Samsung Ace. Pixelation is less noticeable than on Samsung Wave M.

The viewing angles are large, but when tilted the picture loses contrast. The brightness is adjusted manually in the display settings, since the device does not have a light sensor. There you can also select a font (downloaded from the Market beforehand), calibrate the three-axis accelerometer (ALPS), set the screen timeout (from 30 seconds to 30 minutes), enable or disable auto-rotate information when tilting the phone, and select the backlight time for the touch buttons . If the previous Samsung Galaxy Ace model had a BCM21553 chipset and a processor with a clock frequency of 832 MHz, then the Qualcomm MSM7227a chipset is present: ARM Cortex-A5 with a clock frequency of 1 GHz, DSP - Hexagon QDSP5 350 MHz, Adreno 200 video accelerator, ARMv7 architecture and technical process - 45 nm. Frankly speaking, this is my first time encountering such a chip.



There are no questions about the speed of work: quickly, without “glitches” and “bugs”. During testing, the device behaved quite stably.

Navigation

The smartphone is equipped with a seventh generation GPS navigator “gpsOne GPS”. For the test, I will use the Navitel application. I won’t describe the installation of the program, I’ll just briefly mention that to install Navitel you will need two files: APK and maps.

After launching the application, we agree with all the requests that the navigation suggests. A “cold” start for determining coordinates is about three minutes, a “hot” start is up to 10-15 seconds. Unfortunately, indoor satellites are reluctant to be identified, so the navigator had difficulty finding only three. But in open space - more than 10.



A map and a number of icons appear on the screen: at the top - compass, sound settings, satellite settings, battery charge, traffic jams; on the right - scaling, on the bottom left - “Search”, on the bottom right - “Menu”. If desired, we enable or disable various online services and configure POI filtering: cars, food, trade, entertainment, etc.



You can watch route navigation in flat or 3D view, from above or with rotation. Night mode of maps or standard - day mode is available. Throughout the trip there is voice accompaniment of various events: turns, satellite reception conditions, etc.




To search for a destination, select one of the options, for example, by address. Enter the city, street and house. Building a route takes less than a second, and the same amount of time will be required to rebuild the route in the event of a traffic jam or other unpleasant situation.





The Navitel program coped with all the functions perfectly, but the higher screen resolution was clearly not enough, so quite often I had to zoom in on the map.

Shell and menu

To unlock the screen, you need to press “Menu” or the device’s power button and then slide your finger from the center of the screen to the side. The TouchWIZ shell is traditionally used: seven desktops (3 by default) with widgets, a panel with “Dialer”, “Contacts”, “Messages” and an entrance to the “Menu”. The following are assigned to desktops: shortcuts, folders, hot keys and various widgets. Static and animated screensavers are used as wallpaper. When you hold down the mechanical Home button for a long time, a menu appears with previously launched applications. The task manager is also located there.



The menu is represented by 12 icons in a 4x4 grid on one screen. By clicking on “Menu” and selecting “edit”, the shortcuts can be moved. Including installing them in the bottom panel (“Home” cannot be replaced).

Samsung phones are in high demand among domestic buyers. New models enter the market every year. They meet all modern requirements. Young people are happy to purchase these devices and enjoy innovative developments. However, there is also a category of users who prefer gadgets, so to speak, “simpler”, so it is not at all surprising that the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus GT-S7500, which went on sale back in 2012, is still used by many.

It is worth noting that not every person is ready to switch to huge smartphones, even taking into account their wide functionality. This model is suitable for this category. Does it have any other advantages besides compact dimensions? Let's figure it out.

Design

Externally, the Ace Plus S7500 is not much different from similar gadgets. The rounded edges fit harmoniously into the overall design idea of ​​the designers. Thanks to the chrome frame located on the front panel, the device looks quite impressive. The glossy surface of the back cover somewhat confused buyers, since the company had already presented models made of matte plastic. This option is practical, it does not accumulate fingerprints and does not leave traces of mechanical damage. But with gloss you will have to be extremely careful, if possible use a cover to protect the case from scratches.

If we talk about the assembly, there are no comments here. The back cover does not bend, there is no play or creaking.

From customer reviews it follows that the dimensions of this device are an indisputable advantage. They measure 114.5 x 62.5 x 11.2 mm. Compared with previous models, the thickness has decreased slightly and the height has increased. The streamlined shape of the body allows you to operate the phone with one hand without feeling any discomfort. The weight of the device is only 114 g. There is no fatigue during long conversations. If you use your smartphone without a case, you need to be very careful, as the glossy surface of the back cover is quite slippery.

The front panel is designed as standard. Above the touch screen there is a proximity sensor, which is automatic, and a speaker. Users respond positively to the latter. The volume is good, the interlocutor's speech sounds intelligible.

Below the screen there is a control panel with one mechanical button located in the center and two touch ones. There is a backlight that makes using the phone easier. It is not bright enough, the shade is white.

At the top end there is a standard headphone jack, on the opposite side there is a microphone and a USB port. On the side faces there are keys for adjusting the volume (left) and locking the device (right).

The back of the smartphone has a stereo speaker, flash and camera lens. The latter protrudes slightly beyond the overall line of the body, which can damage the surface of the protective glass of the optics.

Screen

When reviewing the Ace Plus S7500 smartphone, the screen characteristics cannot be ignored. This element is an important criterion for many buyers. The model uses a 3.65-inch display. It is framed with a black frame. It is thin on the sides, widening only in the upper and lower parts. The resolution with which the picture is displayed on the screen is critically low. It remains the same as its predecessor: 480 × 320 mm. Pixelation is quite noticeable even to the naked eye, since the display resolution is only 158 ppi.

The screen uses a TFT-LCD matrix. It is worth noting that it is not flawless. Viewing angles are not as wide as we would like. When the device is tilted, the contrast decreases significantly. The brightness level can only be adjusted manually; there is no automatic option in the gadget. On the street in sunny weather, it will be somewhat difficult to view the information, since the screen is glared.

The device has a multi-touch function, thanks to which the touch layer is able to recognize up to five touches made simultaneously.

The Korean manufacturer's smartphone is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera. There is autofocus and a single-section flash, which significantly improve the quality of photographs. According to most users, the optics deserve only praise. The maximum image size is 2560 × 1920 px. The image is detailed, there is no blur in the corners, there is practically no noise. Even in poor lighting, the quality is respectable.

You can record videos with this camera. In this mode, the maximum available resolution is 640 × 480 px. The recording speed is limited to 30 frames. It is possible to activate 3x zoom. To do this, you need to use the volume rocker.

There is no standalone key; the camera is turned on through the menu. The settings have three flash modes, effects and other options.

Hardware

Technical Ace Plus S7500 even at the time of release were considered rather weak. The smartphone is based on the Qualcomm MSM7227a processor. It is based on one ARM Cortex-A5 computing module. Under high load, the clock frequency increases to 1000 MHz. Paired with the main chipset is an Adreno 200 graphics accelerator.

Although this “filling” is not considered quite powerful, it allows the gadget to work without freezing. Most owners noticed that the phone functions stably and copes with all everyday tasks.

The RAM in this model is only 512 MB. Only about 200 MB will be available to the user. The integrated memory storage is 3 GB. You can expand it up to 32 GB using an external drive. The device works with microSD memory cards.

Autonomy
