World of Tanks update 9 20 1.

Update 9.20.1 is approaching its official release and we are starting a new series of general tests. Participate in testing and evaluate the changes that developers have been working on recently. Here's what will be available on the public test server:

  • Rebalance of Tier X light tanks, as well as British and American vehicles.
  • Reworked personal combat missions with a new interface and mechanics that allow you to complete them faster.
  • Additional rewards for high performance in battle are new ways to obtain bonds.

The changes can be found in detail in recent publications:

How to get to the general test?

Bonuses and medals

From 9.20.1, when winning medals in the “Epic Achievements” and “Battle Hero” categories, the player will receive additional encouragement in the form of bonds. Please note: coupons will not be awarded for cumulative medals. The number of bonds is not final and may change.

Improvements for pitched battles

The following changes have been made to the “General Battle” battle type:

  1. The message about victory or defeat in battle has changed.
Added a new type of battle victory or defeat message to make it easier for players to understand when and why a battle ended. The message has separate animations for winning, losing and drawing. Additional text shows why the fight ended. When a battle ends when a base is captured, the capture progress bar goes into a "locked" state shortly before a message appears to indicate that the outcome will not change.
This innovation has been applied to all random and ranked battles, as well as the general battle.
  2. Updated reward tooltips, which describe various conditions for obtaining. In a standard battle, oncoming battle and assault, the conditions are the same, but in a general battle the requirements are higher.
  3. Improved combat interface (HUD) in general battles.
The background transparency of player list panels has been reduced to make the information easier to read against a light background (sky, water, etc.).
Boundary markings have been added to the top panel to improve perception.

Improvements for Training Ground mode

Changes:

  • Irrelevant options have been disabled in the context menus of vehicle upgrade windows, the research tree, and the vehicle carousel.
  • Rewards (credits and experience) for victories and defeats when completing the training ground have been balanced.
  • Rewards for completing the training ground are now displayed in the notification center.
  • Added a notification to players that they will not receive a reward when completing the training ground again.
  • The crew recruitment window has become more informative.

Corrections:

  • Fixed a bug where some interface elements were displayed incorrectly in color blind mode.
  • Fixed errors that occurred when saving and restoring settings (vehicle panel and sights) when the player entered the training range and exited this mode.
  • Fixed the rendering of some game hints (unmasking when shooting, the need to return to the capture circle).
  • Fixed a rare bug where the “Skip Tutorial” button was not displayed correctly.
  • The results of battles in the mode have been removed from the notification center.
  • Fixed display of the EULA license window when restarting the game client.
  • Descriptions of vehicle characteristics in training ground loading screens are now correct.
  • Fixed a bug due to which the music tracks of the battle, Hangar and the final video of the training ground overlapped each other.
  • Added reward descriptions to the victory screen.
  • Fixed bugs in bot behavior.
  • Fixed errors in displaying map boundaries.

Players had barely had time to experience the rebalancing of vehicles in update 9.20 when we began a new batch of balance changes planned for 9.20.1. This time they will touch UK research tree, US light tanks and the legendary Chinese car Type 59. Before we begin reviewing a specific technique, let us remind you why we are doing this. The purpose of the rebalance is to give a second life to vehicles that have lost their combat effectiveness over time. Another reason is to establish and/or reinforce the unique role of technology types within each nation. We'll tell you everything in detail.

British technology

Your feedback during the general test led to a number of changes regarding medium tanks and tank destroyers in the UK.

Instead of slightly increasing the combat effectiveness of the FV4202(P), the combination of strong frontal armor and increased engine power made it overly effective. Increasing the frontal armor of the turret gave the FV4202(P) a significant advantage over its classmates. To fix this, we rolled back the original changes: the tank will still receive a small increase in the frontal armor of the turret, but not as much as it was originally.

By improving the shooting comfort of the FV4004 Conway and FV4005 Stage II tank destroyers, we have made them more effective as fire support vehicles. But the increase in mobility was already unnecessary: combined with decent firepower, it made the FV4004 Conway and FV4005 Stage II damage-dealing vehicles that can quickly escape return fire. They rode out, did a lot of damage, and left before the enemy could respond. We've changed their mobility again to make the vehicles more balanced. The FV4004 now has a maximum forward speed of 40 km/h (previously 35 km/h), while the FV4005 Stage II remains the same as in update 9.20 - 35 km/h.

British heavy tanks of Tier VIII and higher have been balanced, but it seems that they are all completely different. We made them into a sequential branch with gameplay similar to Conqueror. These are now versatile heavy tanks with powerful guns, strong turrets and hulls, and a significant amount of durability starting with Caernarvon. Let's take a closer look at the changes.

Tank Caernarvon raised many questions with its unusual combination of the strength of a heavy tank, the mobility and armor of the ST, as well as low one-time damage and an accurate weapon. We gave this vehicle a new gun with more damage per shot, thicker armor to make it a real heavy hitter, and took away its two 20-pounder guns. Simply put, you no longer need to sit behind heavily armored allies. Caernarvon- a real “heavy”, and he must act accordingly: rely more on his own armor and not be afraid to engage in close combat. The turret of this vehicle was replaced with a more armored Centurion 32-pdr, and the side armor of the hull was also increased. To balance the improvements in survivability and firepower, we've slightly reduced mobility and maneuverability.

Tank Conqueror wasn't "heavy" enough due to the booking. Update 9.20.1 will make it an effective assault TT, significantly improving its overall protection. Now it will be able to withstand hits from high-level tank destroyers, and a powerful weapon with impressive armor penetration and one-time damage will allow you to fight effectively at the forefront of the attack. The vehicle will also receive a new top turret with strong armor in the front, and the current turret will become stock. In addition, we will be changing the gun selection on the Conqueror tank, removing its two 20 pounders and giving it the stock 32 pounder. To prevent the vehicle from becoming too powerful, we have reduced its mobility and rate of fire. Despite the improved armor of the hull and turret, the tank still has a weakly protected lower frontal part and commander's cupola - take this into account in battle.

Weakly armored but highly accurate tank FV215b Not everyone liked the rear-mounted turret. It showed high efficiency only in certain players and generally seemed poorly balanced if its strengths and weaknesses were not well studied. Most importantly, this tank is significantly different in play style from the well-armored, multifunctional heavy tank that should crown this branch of technology. For this reason, the vehicle, following the AMX Foch (155) tank destroyer, will move into the special category, and its place at level X will be taken by a new tank Super Conqueror. As with the French Tier X tank destroyer (if you still suffered and bought the FV215b), with the release of update 9.20.1 you will be awarded Super Conqueror. This vehicle is a logical continuation of the branch from the Conqueror tank. Heavily armored, with a good weapon, it is very effective in many situations. This tank deserves a separate review, which will be released closer to the release of the update. Follow the news.

British medium tanks seem ideal for providing fire support from medium range. They combine an excellent gun, excellent gun depression angles, visibility and stabilization. Hide behind a hill, find a careless enemy and fill him with shells. It sounds simple, but in reality it is not, since there is not always enough booking to fulfill this role. After several accurate shots from the enemy, the tower becomes like a sieve - and you understand that something has gone wrong.

To secure the role of mid-line warriors for the ST, we have improved the frontal armor of the turrets of these British vehicles. The given armor thickness of 240 mm and higher at levels VIII-X will allow these tanks to fulfill their role and cause headaches for the enemy with frequent ricochets from the turret.

Reviews about the FV 4202 forced us to pay attention to this machine. The frontal armor of the turret will be improved. Mobility will also be improved: in update 9.20.1, the vehicle will receive the much-desired 650 hp engine, which will allow it to quickly reach its maximum speed, move on par with other medium tanks and effectively fulfill its role.

The FV4005 Stage II, as well as the vehicles leading to it, are rarely seen in combat. Requiring significant skill from the player, these tank destroyers have little armor but are mobile, and also offer careful and unforgiving gameplay. No wonder they are not popular. To give this vehicle branch a second life, we have made changes to the parameters of vehicles such as the Challenger, Conway and FV4005 Stage II, increasing their firepower and survivability, which should make playing on these vehicles more comfortable. These changes are based on player feedback and statistics.

The Challenger, which previously played the role of a medium tank, will return to the classic role of a tank destroyer, and causing damage will become its main task. This British Tier VII vehicle will be able to seriously batter enemy vehicles thanks to a new gun with an average damage of 280 units, which will be balanced by a horizontal aiming angle of 120°. You will no longer be able to rush around the map chaotically with this car. Instead, you will need to act like this: take a good position and begin to damage enemy vehicles, making the most of the increased firepower and turret rotation speed.

The FV4004 Conway will receive a B.L. gun. 5.5-in. AT Gun as an alternative, capable of dealing an average of 600 damage, which will make the game more varied with this machine. You can play from DPM using the 120mm L1A1 AT gun, or get used to playing on FV Stage II, dealing high one-time damage from the B.L. gun. 5.5-in. AT Gun. Simply adding a gun will not be enough to bring the FV4004 Conway back to life. For this reason, we have improved the vehicle's mobility and gun depression angle. The latter is now -10°, allowing you to get the most out of uneven terrain. The only limitation is the horizontal aiming angle of 180°. But you still won’t have to turn the body when aiming (which could lead to the detection of the vehicle). Also, you no longer need to close down for a long time after firing, since the spread from turning the turret is much less than from turning the hull. And lastly, the turret rotation speed has been increased to 18° per second, which will allow you to aim faster and deal damage to the enemy, reducing the chance of taking damage yourself.

With the exception of some isolated moments that made it possible to snatch victory, the FV4005 Stage II was not the best vehicle in World of Tanks. In update 9.20.1 we will fix this with a few changes. Thanks to improved mobility, this vehicle will be able to take up positions and escape from enemy fire faster. Along with increased strength, the firing efficiency of the FV4005 Stage II will improve due to an increase in the turret traverse speed, a 180° horizontal aiming sector, and reduced dispersion from turret rotation. And the last thing: a gun declination angle of -10° will allow you to use the terrain, hiding the weakly armored hull and turret, and increasing the ammunition load to 20 shells will allow you to seriously batter the enemy. In other words, the vehicle received everything it needed to stay in battle longer and effectively help its allies.

If you're wondering why we bypassed Tier VIII and went straight to Conway, just imagine Charioteer with a top-of-the-line 105mm gun. We will not make major changes to the characteristics of this vehicle, except that we will increase the air pressure levels to -10°.

Light tanks Tier X

Possessing good visibility and mobility, as well as excellent camouflage to remain unnoticed, Tier X light tanks became excellent “scouts”. However, their firepower was not sufficient to effectively counter the same-tier vehicles of other classes. This will be fixed in update 9.20.1 thanks to a number of changes regarding shooting comfort, damage per minute and one-time damage.

Insufficient firepower prevented the tank XM551 Sheridan significantly influence the outcome of the battle on maps where “light” is less important. The top American will receive increased one-time damage for the 105-mm Lightweight Gun with the same rate of fire. In other words, the damage per minute will increase, and this will significantly increase Sheridan's chances against medium tanks.

U Rhm. Panzerwagen gun stabilization and aiming speed will improve. Since it takes less time to make an accurate shot, the likelihood of being detected will be reduced - and survivability will increase. We also increased the vehicle's rate of fire to emphasize its role as a fast-firing, agile sniper that relies on damage per minute rather than trading off durability with the enemy. At the same time, we reduced the one-time damage so that the damage per minute for this vehicle remained at the same level.

Thanks to its small size, stealth and incredible agility T-100 LT best suited for active "light". However, in terms of firepower, it did not pose a serious threat to the enemy. We will increase his damage per minute to make him an active “firefly” that can also snap back.

If we take the light tanks of France, for AMX 13 105 detecting the enemy is just as important as dealing damage. We raised his one-time damage to emphasize this feature among the five X-level LTs.

And one last thing. All five Tier X LTs (including the Chinese WZ-132-1) will have their ammunition load increased so that they have enough shells for the entire battle.

US light tanks

By analogy with the heavy tanks of Great Britain, the US armored vehicle branch will undergo changes that will bring it to a single gaming “denominator”. Ending with the XM551 Sheridan, it now includes five light tanks with a conventional loading system. The T71 was renamed the T71 DA and moved to a mixed branch of light, medium and heavy tanks, making room for the newcomer - the T71 CMCD. The vehicle is modeled after the T71, but will not have a magazine loading system. At the same time, some changes to combat parameters will provide a unique gaming experience. The M41 Walker Bulldog remains, but will no longer have a magazine loading system (76mm Gun T91E5 gun), which does not fit into the general concept of the branch. In addition, we also changed several transitions between the two branches.

  • Gun dispersion due to movement of the Type 59 chassis has been reduced by 22%
  • Gun dispersion from turning the Type 59 chassis has been reduced by 22%
  • The dispersion of the 100 mm Type 59 gun when rotating the turret has been reduced by 25%
  • The aiming time of the 100 mm Type 59 gun has been changed from 2.9 sec. up to 2.3 sec.

The Type 59 tank appeared in the game a long time ago and has still not lost its relevance. With enough armor to block shells with penetration below 200mm, the maneuverability to quickly get to the desired point on the map, and the firepower to take a toll on the enemy (both at a distance and in close combat), this Tier VIII medium tank has everything still capable of operating effectively on the battlefield.

Despite all its formidability, this vehicle is very demanding of the player’s skills, and in update 9.20.1, taking into account your requests, we will slightly increase its combat effectiveness. To make playing the Type 59 tank more comfortable, we will improve its stabilization and reduce the aiming time. Shooting on the move and after stopping will become more accurate and take less time.

Along with the Type 59 tank, we have also revised the characteristics of the 59-Patton, increasing the penetration of the armor-piercing shell from 190 to 212 mm. Additionally, we made improvements to the T-34-3: we improved its armor to the Type 59 level and made its aiming parameters more comfortable:

  • The aiming time of the 122 mm D-25TA gun has been changed from 3.4 sec. up to 2.9 sec.
  • The rear declination angle of the 122 mm D-25TA gun has been changed from 0 degrees to -4 degrees.
  • The armor of the hull and turret has been strengthened.

We have more to tell you about Update 9.20.1, so stay tuned. And if you have questions or suggestions about balance changes, please join the discussion on the forum.

General battle

Rules

  • 60 players on the map, 30 on each team.
  • Only Tier X vehicles participate.
  • Battle time: 15 minutes.
  • Victory conditions: capture the enemy's base or destroy all of its equipment.

Formation of teams

  • The general battle is formed from the general queue of the “Random Battle” mode.
  • Getting into a general battle occurs randomly, by analogy with other types of battle: assault and oncoming battle.
  • The general battle will be disabled by default for players with insufficiently powerful computers. However, they will be able to enable it manually in the game settings: Settings > Game > Random Battle Types > Grand Battle.
  • Each team is conditionally divided into 3 subgroups, 10 people in each.
  • The player cannot choose a subgroup; membership in a specific subgroup is determined by the balancer.
  • The composition of teams in the general battle is regulated by the general rules of balance 2.0.
  • The composition of each subgroup by type of equipment will be as similar as possible to the composition of a similar subgroup from the opposing team.
  • Each team can have no more than 4 self-propelled guns.
  • The difference in the number of platoons between teams is no more than 2 platoon players.
  • If at least one player in a platoon has the “General Battle” battle type enabled, then such a platoon can get into this type of battle, regardless of whether the rest of the platoon members have it enabled.

Map

  • The general battle takes place on the Nebelburg map measuring 1.4 x 1.4 kilometers.
  • The appearance of players on the map is regulated by their subgroup.
  • Each subgroup has its own starting position (“initial rep”).
  • Two bases: one for each team (as in a standard battle).

Interface

  • The loading screen, statistics screen (via Tab), post-battle statistics screen, as well as the team composition panel are adapted for 60 players.
  • The entire team is divided into 3 subgroups.
  • The composition of each subgroup can be viewed in detail by clicking on the corresponding subgroup.
  • The top element of the user interface has been changed. In addition to the total number of vehicles destroyed by a team, this element also displays the percentage of each team's total hit points.

Awards, achievements and statistics

  • In each general battle, players will be able to receive bonds. Players will also be able to receive bonds in regular random battles, where only Tier X vehicles are involved (the so-called “twelfth level” of battles). Bonuses are awarded to players who have earned more than 400 units of pure experience as a result of a battle.
  • The number of bonds received as a reward depends on the experience earned in battle.
  • The player will be able to complete combat missions, personal combat missions, and also receive all the rewards available in random battles.
  • In the general battle, players will be able to receive badges of class (as in random battles).
  • Battles of the “General Battle” type are not taken into account in the summary of the player’s achievements and do not affect the statistics of random battles.
  • Statistics for this type of battle will be displayed separately: “Achievements” > “Statistics” >
  • Statistics on the success of a specific vehicle in the “General Battle” battle type will be displayed separately: “Achievements” > “Vehicles” > “General Battle” battle type.

The conditions for receiving some medals have been adapted

Ranked battles

  • Added the ability to receive badges of class not only in random battles, but also in the “Ranked Battle” mode.
  • Added display of vehicle rank on the vehicle panel (in the carousel) indicating a specific value for each vehicle when selecting the “Rank Battle” mode.
  • The interface for displaying the reward received in the past stage has been improved. Information about the reward received is also displayed in a tooltip when hovering over a rank.
  • The calendar interface in the mode has been redesigned. Information about prime times on each server for the selected day is now displayed in the calendar window (instead of in a tooltip as before).
  • The list of maps for playing in the mode has been changed. Now battles take place on the following maps:
  • Changes have been made to the work of the balancer:
    • The maximum number of self-propelled guns in battle has been reduced to two.
    • The balance system for vehicle types has been improved (the balancer will try to select the most similar team compositions).
    • The system for forming teams by rank has been improved.
  • The screen interface when entering the mode has been revised: information about the servers available for the game has been added; The display of information about prime times has been redesigned.
  • Special tips have been added to the Ranked Battle loading screen, explaining the main mechanics and features of the mode. A separate setting has also been added that allows you to customize the loading screen specifically for the mode and gives the player the opportunity to choose one of three options for displaying the loading screen (similar to the setting for random battles, but only applies to the “Ranked Battle” mode):
    • Text only.
    • Text with illustration.
    • Minimap.

Displaying season leaders in ranked battles

  • An event archive has been added: you can view player statistics for the past season.
  • Added “Clan Members” and “Friends” filters. You can see where your friends or clanmates stand on the season leaderboard.

Advanced Equipment

  • You can now remove Advanced Equipment only using bonds.
  • Now the equipment “Extended set of spare parts” also becomes complex, the cost of its dismantling is indicated in booms.
  • After the release of Update 9.20, Advanced Equipment will be automatically removed from all players for free, so you can reinstall it if you wish.

Crew stun mechanics

  • The time of the inflicted stun has been added to post-battle statistics.
  • The mechanics of dealing damage and stunning through obstacles have been improved. Now the self-propelled gun will not deal damage through obstacles more than two meters thick if the target is completely hidden behind them. In this case, the blast wave may slightly bend around the corners of obstacles. To do this, there must be less than two meters from the point of impact to the edge of the obstacle. However, this will reduce the damage from the explosion.

Pre-battle instructions

  • Now the influence of Pre-Combat Instructions on the performance characteristics of vehicles is displayed in information windows and simplified performance characteristics.
  • The ability to view the impact of Pre-Combat Instructions on performance characteristics has also been added to the vehicle comparison interface.
  • Added the ability to enable auto-replenishment of Pre-Battle Instructions when purchasing them.
  • The bonus from Pre-Combat Instructions, which affects the level of proficiency in skills, is now displayed in the personal file of crew members.

Corrections

  • Fixed an issue where the camera was tied not to the model of a destroyed tank, but to the location of its destruction.
  • We fixed an issue where full screen mode settings were not saved in some cases.
  • Fixed a bug in displaying vehicle ranks.
  • An error in the armor of the Maus tank's hull bottom has been fixed. Reservation has been reduced from 250 to 50 mm.
  • In the “Equipment” window, a bug in displaying the maximum number of shells for the 75 mm SA49 gun has been fixed.
  • A bug has been fixed where vehicles that are not suitable for LBZ were displayed as available.
  • Fixed a bug where a non-burnable rank was displayed as a combustible rank.

Improvements

  • Improved placement of notes in the contacts window.
  • Added information about the earned rank of a vehicle when viewing player achievements.
  • Added range filter in team battles.

Known issues (will be fixed later)

  • For the destruction of a vehicle by a coup after 30 seconds, the player who performed the coup does not receive credit for the destruction.
  • The invisibility of vehicles with a unique camouflage in the Garage is indicated without the camouflage bonus, but in fact the camouflage effect works.
  • The recruiter’s “Recruitment Point” does not display the recruits and reservists he invited if the account was restored to the state on a date earlier than the recruits accepted the invitation.
  • In some cases, when the cursor is quickly rotated around the car, the camera may suddenly change position when viewed from the trajectory.
  • In some cases, the sequence of events in the history of damage received in the damage panel is disrupted.
  • Technical text may be displayed in the post-battle statistics window when destroying an enemy with a coup.
  • An event feed in a battle about the capture of a base appears before the specified number of capture points is accumulated.

Large-scale update of the first campaign of personal combat missions “Long-awaited reinforcements”

The essence of the changes

  • The visual and audio components of personal combat missions have been completely redesigned.
  • Completely new and unique rewards have been added.
  • The conditions of the tasks have been revised so that in order to receive a reward vehicle, a vehicle of a higher level than the reward itself is not required.
  • Order forms have been added that will greatly facilitate the execution of personal combat missions.
  • You can learn about changes to personal combat missions in a special video available directly in the game.

Interface and sound

  • All interfaces for personal combat missions have been redesigned:
  1. Personal combat missions can now be entered through the “Campaigns” tab (under the “Battle!” button).
  2. Added the “General Staff” screen with a map of all operations.
  3. The operations screen has been completely redesigned - now it is a geographical map with tasks in the form of areas on it.
  4. The campaign rewards screen has been completely redesigned:
    1. Now the main reward - the car - is located in the center of the screen.
    2. Operation statistics have been added: now you know how many credits you can still earn.
  • Added new music:
  1. A special music track has been recorded for personal combat missions.
  2. Added interactive musical accompaniment: the more tasks completed within one branch, the more intense the music.

A new way to receive reward cars

Award lists have been removed - machine components have been introduced instead:

  1. To receive a reward vehicle for an operation, you must collect all five components: hull, suspension, gun, power plant and radio.
  2. Each component has its own branch of tasks in the operation:
    1. Powerplant - task branch for light tanks.
    2. Chassis - task branch for medium tanks.
    3. Hull (+ turret or wheelhouse) - task branch for heavy tanks.
    4. Gun - task branch for tank destroyers.
    5. Radio station - task branch for self-propelled guns.
  3. To receive the component, you must complete the final 15th task in the corresponding branch.

Order forms

Added a new entity “Order Forms”:

  1. To earn an Order Form, you must complete any finishing task of any branch with honors.
  2. Order forms can be included (that is, applied) to any task. Thus:
    1. The selected task will automatically be considered completed without distinction.
    2. You will receive a reward for the main conditions of the task.
    3. The spent order form will remain included in the task.
    4. The pledged order form does not disappear, but is temporarily frozen until you take it back.
  3. To pick up the enclosed order form and then use it again, you must complete the task in which it is enclosed with honors.
  4. Number of order forms required for inclusion in tasks:
    1. For any task from 1st to 14th - 1 order form.
    2. In the 15th task - 4 order forms.

Order forms can be used to skip tasks that are difficult or uninteresting to you. Most importantly, you can place order forms in the final, 15th task in a branch, even if you have not yet completed the previous 14. Thus, you can instantly receive the missing fifth component of the machine, completing four branches of tasks with honors.

New rewards

  1. Added a new reward - stripes:
    1. In each operation you can earn two stripes:
      1. The II degree badge is issued simultaneously with receipt of the award vehicle.
      2. The First Class badge is awarded for completing all 75 tasks of a specific operation with distinction.
    2. For completing all tasks in all operations you will receive a special unique “Champion of the First Campaign” badge.
  2. A new reward has been added - camouflage schemes:
    1. In each operation you can earn a set of three (summer, winter, desert) unique camouflage schemes:
      1. A set of three camouflage schemes for a reward vehicle is issued for completing all 75 missions of the operation.
      2. The same set of schematics is unlocked for use on all vehicles of the same nation as the award vehicle for completing all 75 Operation Objectives with Honors.

Changing task conditions

The objectives in each operation have been revised to increase the relevance of the main reward. For example, now all tasks from Operation StuG IV can be completed on Tier V vehicles, from Operation T28 Heavy Tank Concept - on Tier VII vehicles, and so on. However, the restrictions on participation have not changed. You can complete the tasks of any operation even on Tier X vehicles.

We also made the additional conditions in the final, 15th tasks of each branch more diverse. This is due to the fact that the additional reward for tasks that complete branches has become more valuable: now order forms are located there.

Note! If, according to the conditions of the task, you need, for example, to discover five vehicles in a battle, and you discovered seven, obviously, the task will be successful. This rule is valid for all numerical conditions.

Bonuses and medals

From 9.20.1, when winning medals in the “Epic Achievements” and “Battle Hero” categories, the player will receive additional encouragement in the form of bonds. Please note: coupons will not be awarded for cumulative medals. The number of bonds is not final and may change.

Balancer improvements

Now the balancer additionally tries to balance each part of the team list (bottom-middle-top), taking into account the features and roles of vehicles within types: the Maus tank is opposed to the Maus, Type 5 Heavy or E 100, the T57 Heavy Tank is opposed to the AMX 50 B, and so on. However, in some situations, symmetrical balance across playing roles will not work. For example, if vehicles with different roles are in a platoon.

Sound

We have moved to the new version of Wwise 2017.1.1, which will expand the possibilities for further audio improvements.

Improvements for pitched battles

The following changes have been made to the “General Battle” battle type:

  1. The message about victory or defeat in battle has changed.
  3. Reward tooltips have been updated to describe the various conditions for receiving them. In a standard battle, oncoming battle and assault, the conditions are the same, but in a general battle the requirements are higher.
  4. Improved combat interface (HUD) in general battles.
  5. The background transparency of player list panels has been reduced to make the information easier to read against a light background (sky, water, etc.). Boundary markings have been added to the top panel to improve perception.

Game version 9.20 for World of Tanks went to the Supertest. In this material, we are ready to tell you what awaits players in the upcoming update. Let's start with the HD models.

HD models

Wargaming is slowing down the production of HD models of equipment. Remember when almost 20 units of cars used to come out? In update 9.20, according to preliminary data, only 12 units of military equipment of improved quality are expected.

New form of fighting

Do you still remember the May testing of battles, where 60 players played at once - 30 people for each team? At 9.20, a unique battle format for Tier X vehicles will be added to the “Random Battle” mode, where 60 players will fight - “General Battle”.

The battles will take place on a new map, which was created specifically for this battle format - “Nebelburg”. The map size is 1.4 x 1.4 km, which is larger than any currently existing map in World of Tanks.

The rules of combat are the same as in other battles of the “Random Battle” mode: destroy all enemy equipment or capture the map. The number of self-propelled guns is limited to four units per team. The “General Battle” battle format can be turned on and off in the settings.

New branch of tanks

For a long time, Wargaming has been saying that the branch of Chinese tank destroyers will be exclusive to the Chinese server, but in update 9.20 this branch will no longer be exclusive there.

Yes, yes, you didn’t think so. Nine units of new Chinese cars will appear on all game servers. You can see what the branch will consist of.

Self-propelled gun changes

After the release of update 9.18, when self-propelled guns were significantly redesigned, Wargaming collected statistics and player feedback to decide which direction to move next. A few months later, WG improved the mechanics for calculating damage and stun, adding a number of additional parameters when shooting through obstacles:

  • You won’t have to worry about artillery fire if the structure (destructible or non-destructible) that is used for shelter is 2 m or more thick, and your vehicle is completely hidden behind it. There you will be safe: your car will not receive damage and will not be stunned.
  • A vehicle standing behind a fence or small building less than 2 m thick will receive damage and be stunned, as happens in open areas.
  • Third scenario: the structure is strong (2 m or more), but the car is not completely hidden behind it (for example, the stun occurred at the moment of driving behind cover). In this case, the duration of the stun and damage will depend on which part of the vehicle was fired upon. Depending on the area under fire, the vehicle will receive:
    1. 25% of total damage and stun time;
    2. 50% of total damage and stun time;
    3. 75% of total damage and stun time;
    4. 100% total damage and stun time.

Changes will also be made to the post-battle message interface: in order to fully reflect the player’s combat effectiveness, information about the total time of the stun inflicted will be shown in the battle results.

Technique rebalance

In update 9.20, many vehicles from the four nations that we have in the game will be rebalanced. These will be Soviet medium and heavy tanks, as well as tank destroyers; French medium and heavy tanks, as well as tank destroyers; German heavy tanks and tank destroyers; American medium tanks.

Here I would like to separately add that Wargaming abandoned the idea of rebalancing Bat.-Châtillon 25 t. During testing of new versions, no sufficient arguments were found to rebalance this iconic machine.

Also in the French tree there will be changes in the tank destroyer branch at level X. Wargaming has decided to make the AMX 50 Foch (155) a promotional vehicle, and replace it with the new AMX 50 Foch B tank destroyer. If you have an AMX 50 Foch (155) in your hangar at the time of the release of update 9.20, then it will become promotional, and the AMX 50 Foch B will be added to replace it for free. Another small quest has arrived for players who want another promotional car. Let us remind you that update 9.20 comes out at the end of August.

That, in fact, is all that is currently known about the upcoming update 9.20. Download French tank destroyers and be happy!
