Why do you need to show installed equipment for 1.5.1.1?

At first glance, the usefulness of the mod is very doubtful, because the purpose of the practical use of information about installed equipment is difficult to explain. But if you know the saying “who owns the information, owns the world,” then maybe you will be able to find a use for this cheat. For example, by aiming your sight at an illuminated tank destroyer, you can see that it has a camouflage net installed, which will be useful later when you slowly move forward, afraid of getting a couple of hits from this tank destroyer. In this case, it is better to let your ally forward so that you can shoot back later without fear of receiving a shell in response.

The mod works in patch 0.9.17 as follows: when the sight is aimed at a vehicle, three icons appear below, each of which shows the equipment. For example, in the screenshot below you can see that the allied IS-3 has a rammer, aiming drives and ventilation installed:

At the beginning of October, among the community, on October 15, the first wave of blocking for the use of prohibited modifications will take place. But, unfortunately, there were no details after October 15.

Prohibited mods. What mods are generally considered prohibited and how many are there? U Wargaming There is a special list of prohibited modifications, which now (as of November 6, 2016) contains 13 such mods. We will talk about them.

3D skins with the location of modules and tankers

This mod replaces the usual tank models. This skin displays the collage model of the tank, i.e. the player sees the location of all modules and crew members. All armor is painted in different colors depending on its thickness.

The player who installed this modification has the following advantages over other players:

• the location of all modules is visible;
• The area of ​​the tank that can be damaged is highlighted in color;
• each module has its own color;
• it is easier to deal critical damage to an enemy;
• upon penetration, a trace of the hit on the module is visible.

Changed appearance of tracers

When installing this mod, the color of the tracers changes and adds a delay in the visibility of the tracer.

Benefits of using modified tracers:

• long visibility of the tracer allows you to determine the location of the enemy;
• The color of the tracer determines the class of equipment.

Removing tree foliage and changing object transparency

When installing this modification, the player partially or completely loses foliage from trees and bushes, which greatly increases visibility. There are assemblies of this mod where stones and fences are removed.

Advantages of using this modification:

• it is easier to target an enemy who is standing in vegetation;
• It’s easier to hide among the bushes and shoot.

Laser sight

When a player installs this mod, a beam comes out of all guns. With this mod you can more accurately target enemy weak spots. And also with this mod you can see where and from where the enemy is aiming.

Player advantage with this modification:

• it is always easy to determine where the gun is pointed;
• It’s easier to target the enemy’s vulnerable spots;
• You can hide your vulnerabilities in a timely manner when the enemy is aiming at you.

Sight with lens

Almost the same mod that removes all foliage. But this mod removes foliage only in the sniper scope.

Advantages of the mod:

• It’s easier to target the enemy’s vulnerable spots.

Automatic fire extinguishing/repair script

This script allows you to use a manual fire extinguisher in automatic fire extinguisher mode, without pressing a key. Also, this script automatically uses small and large repair kits automatically, without using a key.

• using a cheap manual fire extinguisher instead of an expensive automatic fire extinguisher;
• quick repair of a damaged module.

A modification that marks destroyed objects on the minimap

There is a special mod that shows on the minimap with a special sign those places where destruction of an object has currently occurred. The mod's activation does not depend on whether the vehicle is detected or not.

• It’s easy to assess the vehicle movement situation on the map.

Modification showing reloading of enemy tanks

This mod shows the reloading of an enemy tank on the minimap, in the team's ears, in the battle chat or in the marker above the tank.

Advantage of modification:

• makes it clear whether the enemy is ready to shoot or not.

Modification that displays the outlines of enemy vehicles behind obstacles

If you install this mod, the player will constantly see the outline of enemy vehicles behind any obstacles.

Advantage:

• You can target equipment that is located behind a destructible obstacle.

A modification that shows whether the player has hit an unlit enemy

When installing this mod, you can easily determine whether the player hit an enemy who left the light or not.

Advantages of a player with the modification installed:

• when shooting at places where enemy equipment is often present, you can understand whether there is an enemy there or not;
• makes it possible to understand whether it is worth continuing to the place where the enemy disappeared from the light or not.

Modification that changes the auto-aim algorithm

The modification changes the auto-aim algorithm. The aiming point, aiming method and other parameters change.

Advantages:

• makes it easier to shoot at certain modules;
• facilitates target acquisition;
• reduces anticipation.

Why is he interesting, you ask? Do you know the technical characteristics of all the equipment in the game World of Tanks? Do you know the characteristics of all guns and identify them on any vehicle by their appearance? I think that there are few such experienced players. But this mod contains all this information. Now you just need to aim your sight at any tank, and you will see all the characteristics of its armor and gun. The mod shows very useful information about the penetration and damage caused by the enemy cannon, as well as its overview. Also, the background of the mod’s indicators is transparent and you can see it will not block the screen too much.

Personally I think this useful and interesting mod, but mainly for beginners. The only thing I didn’t like was that it shows a rather large picture and sometimes it can get in the way and distract attention.

When you aim your sight at another player's tank, an information window with the following content will pop up in the lower left corner of the screen:

• tank icon the same as in the hangar

The panel also comes with a settings file InfoPanel.xml, which you can customize for yourself.

The new version of the selected target information panel is simply a masterpiece. Everything is thought out, all the colors match the colors of the game and this is immediately visible in the picture above. All the information provided will definitely help you in battle.

• display of reload time taking into account 100% of the crew and the installed rammer, excluding consumables
• displaying the viewing radius with a fully upgraded crew and without taking into account installed modules and consumables
• color display of mass (green - you can ram, yellow - it might work, red - it’s better not to ram)

Many tankers asked us to post a simplified panel that would display a minimum of information, namely the tank’s reload time and its overview. This information is only displayed when aiming at an enemy tank. It is located in the center of the screen under the gun sight, which is very convenient.

ODevices has one goal - to show the player the equipment installed on an opponent's or ally's tank. There are quite a few variations of it in our game; each player assembles his own configuration based on the car that is being upgraded. After installing ODevices, enter the battle and after the initial countdown, try to aim at any of the tanks. Below, under the crosshair, an additional panel will appear with three equipment icons. If the player chose not to place it, then red crosses will be drawn instead of icons.

Let's move on to the demonstration, in the screenshot below you can see that one of the allies installed a camouflage net on his vehicle (when stationary the tank will be less noticeable), a stereo tube (increases visibility from a stationary vehicle), as well as a gun rammer, which will increase the speed of the loader:
