Porter Gage(English) Porter Gage) - character , additions Fallout 4, one of the Survivor's possible companions.

Description

Porter Gage grew up in a small farming community with his parents. Growing up, he witnessed raiders demanding food from them, and his parents gave it to them without resistance. When he was twelve, and raiders again broke into the settlement, Porter used this chance to escape, so as not to follow the example of his parents.

For the next few years, Gage survived, working where he could to earn caps. He worked as a mercenary guarding caravans, but he still saw people giving the raiders what they wanted, and he realized something about the raider lifestyle - that he wanted to become one of them. He joined the raiders at age 16, taking part in a raid on the settlement in which he was then living.

The first gang he joined was quite large and had a lot of opportunities, but did not use them wisely. Young and naive, he tried to improve his gang by proposing various ideas - until his boss (Gage thought the name was funny) approached him. To his surprise, Conner listened to him. Conner came to him constantly, told him about his plans, told him how much he trusted him. This turned Gage's head.

After a year of working alongside Conner's gang, Gage and Conner decided to try to make peace with another gang. All this was prepared in secret: they chose a neutral point for the meeting, decided who would negotiate, what to do if everything fell through. He was happy that he got to negotiate. And in case he was not taken seriously, three hefty raiders went with him.

After about an hour, they realized that Gage was offering them a good deal. And then it began. Shooting, explosions. At first he thought: " Damn, something went wrong, Conner will have to help us out" But gradually Gage began to understand what was happening: Conner had set him up.

Conner asked Gage everything he knew. If he had remained in the gang, he would have become a threat to Conner. So he created this diversionary negotiation maneuver and ambushed both the competitors and Gage. Gage, however, survived the battle and was left alone.

Gage could not return: the only person he trusted was trying to kill him. He wanted to go back and shoot Conner, but he knew it was just anger, a dream of revenge. So he moved on with his life. He swore that he would never do such a stupid thing again, that he would never trust anyone again and would only care about himself.

Relationship

Notes

  • He says and believes that the raiders in the Commonwealth are stupid due to the lack of centralized power.
  • Gage is the only partner in Fallout 4, who trades with the Survivor, but he only trades in Yader Town.
  • Gage will not board the Prydwen during Elder Maxson's speech.
  • Gage's standard armor and weapons are better than many of his companions, allowing him to be effective in combat with minimal investment.
  • If Gage is carrying any items for a Survivor, when he decides to take a look at the item, he will offer them for sale in addition to his normal loot. Be careful not to buy them accidentally.
  • If you attack any Yader Town raiders, Gage will cease to be a partner and will begin to attack the Survivor.
  • If you defeat Boss Colter without Thirst Quencher, Gage will still talk to the Survivor as if he used his help.
  • Gage is annoyed by molerats, often stating after fighting them, "Molerats... just another pain in the Commonwealth's ass."
  • After reaching the maximum level of relationship with this character, the “Knowledge Gained in Blood” ability is given (+5% experience per kill and +10 to damage resistance).
  • The “Knowledge Gained in Blood” ability will remain even if you kill Gage during the “Hunting Season” quest.
  • If you give Gage any glasses and put them on him, the metal eyepatch covering his right eye will disappear forever. Taking his glasses away, you discover that his right eye has been miraculously healed.
  • While in partners, when changing to another, he goes only to the raider settlement; if there are none, he goes to Yader-Town
  • Worried about “Swarm of Flying Ants”: “ If these beetles kill me, say that you accidentally shot yourself with your gun or fell into an abyss, say whatever you want, at least it won’t be so embarrassing».

Appearance

Porter Gage appears only in addition to Fallout 4 - .

Behind the scenes

If you choose the "Stay" dialogue option, it may say: "What's here? Right here? Maybe over there? Ha, just kidding" - a reference to TES 4 Oblivion.

Porter Gage

Who: Man/Man

Location: Arena "Yader-Mobilchikov", amusement park "Yader-Mir"

Related quest: Absent

Romantic relationship: Possible

Perk: Knowledge gained in blood

Description: You will first meet Porter Gage during the quest “That's how we got a ride.” He was the right hand of the raider boss from “Nuka-World” Kolter, who you killed, and in fact he had a hand in his murder (events from the Nuka-World add-on). He shoots well and doesn't watch his tongue well. He has been a raider almost all his life and knows everything about this business. In addition to the usual functions of a companion, Gage has a special feature - you can trade with him within the Yader Town, USA zone. His task is to help you win the respect of all raider gangs in the Yader-Mir park.

Did you know that companions' own weapons never need ammo? However, if you give them a new weapon, then you will have to supply it with ammunition. Not enough ammo? Leave your companion his own weapon!

Intimacy with a companion

When you meet a companion for the first time, you cannot be sure of each other. How to break the ice in your relationship? When making important decisions or taking any action, watch your companion's reaction. Companions either like or dislike certain ways of solving problems, and they react to your weaknesses. If you want to unlock their perks and interact with them in a meaningful way (and if available, try to start a romantic relationship or perhaps a little more), then you need to do the things they like. But even if you continue to do any actions that your companion does not approve of, he will still help and support you while exploring the world, but with an expression of protest.

Getting the Porter Gage “Knowledge Gained in Blood” perk in Fallout 4 is quite difficult due to the fact that this partner does not like many actions that are often necessary during the game. Drugs, alcohol, and most importantly, helping the settlers - all this causes Porter to be indignant, and relations with him are slowly declining.

The easiest way to get the Porter Gage perk is to constantly steal everything that is in bad shape (especially valuable things - ammunition, drugs; he may not react to stealing garbage), pick complex locks, and also refuse help from settlers when they ask.

However, it also happens that, judging by the remarks, Gage is very happy with the relationship with the boss, but dialogue for the further development of the relationship does not appear. Most likely, this means that you have encountered a bug, and now, no matter what you do, the message “Gage liked this” will appear in the upper corner of the screen, but the conversation will not start. Most often, this occurs if Porter started a conversation during a battle, and you had to interrupt the dialogue to deal with enemies.

How to get the Gage perk in Fallout 4 if you encounter a bug?

First of all, you need to find out whether this is really a bug. You will need access to the console. If you play in, temporarily switch to another mode or install a special mod that gives access to it.

Approach Gage so that he is in your line of sight and open the console (~ key). Click on it so that its ID (00a5b1) appears on the screen. Then enter the command into the console getav CA_Affinity. If Gage is not nearby, simply enter the command into the console 00a5b1.getav ca_affinity.

If the Affinity value is more than 1000, and Gage does not start a dialogue, then you have encountered a bug, so if you perform actions that your partner likes over and over again, it will not lead to anything.

Fixing the bug is quite simple if you have access to the console. To do this, select Gage by clicking on him with the console open, and enter the command setstage DLC04COMGage 220. After you close the console, Gage will begin a dialogue with you (sometimes even two at once), after which you will receive the “Knowledge Gained in Blood” perk.

If the console is not available, you will have to operate through the game alone. To do this, you need to lower your relationship with Gage so that its value becomes less than 1000. Unfortunately, if you do not have a console, you will have to act at random and it will be quite difficult to determine how many times you need to repeat the necessary actions.

Your task is to lower the Affinity value until Gage begins a dialogue with you. The simplest action for this is drinking alcohol. Drink vodka until addiction occurs, then sleep for two hours and drink again. In the end, Porter will start a dialogue with you, and you will receive the coveted perk.

Backstory [edit]

Porter Gage started out a child on a Farming Settlement. Throughout his youth he watched his parents be raided and just surrender what the Raiders wanted. One day, duriing such a raid, he ran away from home and struck out on his own.

Porter survived a while as a mercenary, taking odd jobs and defending caravans. He still saw the very same thing that had driven him from home: people surrendering to raiders. After a while, he realized that this was what he really wanted to do. He took the time to find a group and join it at age 16.

He joined up and started helping out as he could. Eventually, having built some standing, he thought he knew quite a lot from the praise he had received. His boss, Connor "The Harvester", had him working on negotaing a peace between them and a rival gang. In reality, Connor had grown tired of Gage wanted to eliminate him and his rivals.

This took the form of Gage being sent in as a Negotiator with a few of their men as back-up. In reality, it was creating a distraction so the gang could surround and wipe out their rivals.Gage was the only survivor of this massacre somehow.

He also went charging back to his old gang to get revenge but thought better of it. He instead resolved to be smarter than that and decided to move on. He would instead build his own and never trust anyone like he had in that first gang.

Raider ambitions aside, there is still a good reason to play Fallout 4: Nuka-World These are great rewards. Here are some interesting perks that will change your game and allow you to create the ultimate killing machine.

New Companion Perk: Gage

Porter Gage will be the first to notice your potential and invite you to change Yader-Mir. If you start the expansion without a companion, he will automatically join your adventures. This is very welcome news, as Gage is a valuable, deadly companion who will be able to hold his own against any amusement park threats much better than any of your early-game companions.

Gage's perk is Knowledge gained in blood, thanks to which you receive a bonus of 5% experience for each kill, as well as an additional 10% damage resistance. Here's how to make friends with him:

He likes:

  • Opening locks
  • Theft
  • Weapon modification
  • Playing in arcade machines
  • Bargain for a large sum
  • Aggressive or sarcastic dialogue
  • Completing repeatable quests for faction leaders

He does not like:

  • Killing friendly raiders in Yader-Mir
  • Use of alcohol or chemicals
  • Peaceful dialogues

Perk "Lord of the Wasteland"

Towards the end of the expansion, you will be able to set up raider settlements in the Commonwealth. This does not have any negative consequences, except that you will spoil relations with other raiders whom you did not help. The level of the perk increases as raider settlements are founded:

3 settlements: New buildings are opening at all raider outposts

5 settlements: Additional buildings open at all raider outposts

8 settlements: You rule the Wasteland! All raider buildings are available at your outposts!

Raider Perks (End Game)

ATTENTION! SPOILERS! READ IF YOU HAVE READ THE ENDINGS!

When you complete " Home Sweet Home", will automatically start " Show of force" is the final quest of the add-on, in which you will need to destroy the third, hostile faction, and restore power to the Yader-Mir generators.

Upon completion of the last quest you will receive two of the three possible perks. You get each one for one of the surviving factions. It's impossible to get all three. Here's what they are:

Operator Perk " Professional»: Increases the damage of all silenced weapons by 25%, as well as a 10% increase in stealth while you are in the shadows.

Perk Adepts " Adept»: Kills with melee weapons restore 25% AP.

Perk Pack " Leader of the Pack»: 25% more damage from melee weapons and melee attacks. Increases resistance to normal and energy damage by 25%.

Obviously, the most useful of these is the Operators perk, unless of course you are running around with a sledgehammer at the ready. It is also worth noting that they bring much more loot, so it would be wise to give all five settlements to them, and slightly improve relations with the other gang that you liked more. This way you can get the most benefit from the ending.

Also, according to unverified information, there are two more perks. First - Smart Grenade(“Smart Grenades”), which can be obtained by purchasing an item of the same name from Shelby Chase at the Yader Town Market. The grenades themselves are different in that they do not cause any damage to your character, even if it explodes under your feet. The perk, in turn, increases damage from grenades.

The second perk is Lucky Rabbit's Foot(“Rabbit’s Foot”), you can also get it by purchasing this item (last time players pointed to Daisy in the Commonwealth). The rabbit's foot will appear in the weapons section instead of grenades, but instead you will receive a 10% increase in experience and +3 to luck.
