There is a huge amount of music on the social network. You can find almost any song (see), and listen to it. In this tutorial I want to show you how to search for music on VKontakte. We'll take a look at search tools and see how it works.
Search for music on VK
Go to your page. To go to the “Audio Recordings” section, you need to click on the link of the same name in the main menu, or click on the “Music” icon at the top of the screen.
Enter the name of the song or artist in the search bar. Tooltips will help you find the song you want (see). As you type, search results will be generated automatically. Find the desired composition in the ready list.
You can check out the chart leaders. To do this, open the “Popular” category in the right menu. Here you have the opportunity to select music by a specific genre.
You can write your query directly in the search bar. After that press Enter. You will be taken to the search results page. Here, make sure the Audio Recordings tab is active.
What to do with a found song
Well, of course, listen (see). To do this, click on the Play icon opposite the song (blue circle with a white triangle).
If you hover your mouse over a song in the list, an additional menu will appear. It has the following functions:
You can also find and listen to music that your friends have added. To do this, find and click on the person in the list located in the right menu block. When you click, your compositions will automatically be displayed (see).
If you liked a song, you can probably find it on VK and listen to it. Today we will talk about how to search for music on the website of our favorite social network.
At the top of the page there is a "Music" button. If you click on it, you will see a list of songs you have added.
Here you can see your friends' songs if you click on the "Friends Updates" button. And if you click on the “Popular” button, you will see a list of currently popular songs.
To use the song search, enter the artist name or artist name and song title for a more precise search, as shown in the screenshot.
Please note that the search is carried out not only by songs that are available on the site, but also by those songs that have been added to your audio recordings.
To listen to the song, click on the play icon. And don't forget that you can add a song to your compositions by clicking on the cross.
Remember that it is not at all necessary to use the search specifically in the music section of VK. You can add the song name to the Search bar at the top of the screen and press Enter to search.
A list of what was found will open, including music, videos, recordings, etc., where the search item is present. Click "Audio" to view the songs found.
By the way, without registering on VKontakte, you won’t be able to search for songs on the site itself, although you can listen to them - for example, on those sites that use VK directly as a music library.

- Click OK. Your new tags will now be associated with the song and can be viewed immediately in iTunes and any other software options.
Editing capabilities in Windows Media Player (for Windows users)
- Launch Windows Media Player. If the songs you want to edit are already in your library, proceed to step 2. If not, then click the File > Add to Library button. Select the folder that contains the songs, then click OK. Your songs will be added to the Windows Media Player library.
- Find the song you want to change. Right-click and then click the "Advanced Tag Editor" button in the menu that appears. The tag editor will open. Title, artist, album, genre and other tags can be edited immediately. Change them as you wish.
- Click OK. Your new tags will now be associated with the song and can be viewed in Windows Media Player or any other software options.
How to Edit Tags in Rhythmbox Music Player (Linux Users)
- Rhythmbox Music Player is a popular music player for Linux. If the songs you want to edit are already in the program's library, proceed to step 3. Otherwise, click the File > Import File button, and if you want to import a single file or a group of selected songs, click the File button »> "Import Folder" if you have an entire folder to import.
- Find and select the file(s) or folder you want to add to the library, then click the Open button. Your songs will be added to the Rhythmbox Music player library.
- Scroll through the library and find the file(s) you want to change. Click a column header to sort your library by title, genre, artist, or album, respectively. To edit file tags, right-click. In the menu that appears, click "Properties".
- A dialog box will appear allowing you to edit title, artists, album, genre, track number, disc numbers and year. Edit the necessary tags.
- Click the "Close" button. Your new tags will now be associated with the song and can be instantly viewed in iTunes and any software.

For example, you can change the name of a track; to do this, go to “Audio Recordings”; a pencil icon appears to the right of the song we need. We point at it and we get a recording "Edit audio recording".
Now, we can change the title of the song and its artist.
There is also a cool feature that many people forget about. You can queue exactly the songs that you like right now. What am I talking about? For example, you are listening to track 1 in your list, but you want the sixth track to play second.
You take it and move it to the second place. That's all, nothing complicated.
